Number of Guests on Cruise--3rd & 4th Guests?

We have a group of 4 that's book a cruise for fall of 2009. When I'm looking at Carnival's website, it tells me a cheaper rate for 3rd and 4th guests. Do all of us have to share a room? For instance guests 1 & 2 in an interior room and 3 and 4 in another. I wasn't for sure if it was offering me a discount by having a party bigger than 2.

it's all one room

The 3rd and 4th rate is if there is a 3rd and 4th person in the same room. The first and second guest usually pay a higher rate and then the 3rd and 4th gets a discount. If you all want the discount u can put 4 persons in the room and just divide the total cost for the room by 4.

That's all of you in one room. Unless, they are your children, I wouldn't suggest that. Those rooms are tight and tiny. You really don't want to share if you don't have to.

Have fun on your trip!

The cruise lines sell per person, double occupancy which means they expect to have at least two people in a room. When you add a third or fourth person, they give you a discount, but it is for all of you in one cabin. It is very expensive for a single person to cruise by themselves, about double the price. So when you book one cabin with four people, it's a good deal for you and a great deal for the cruise ship company.
