On Carnival Cruise, do they ask for your marriage liscense if name is different? ?
I need to know if without a passport (not required yet) if you as a passenger have had to bring a marriage lisence to show why your name on your driver's lisence is different from your birth certificate. I've gotten two different responses from Carnival Employees.
I doubt very much that it would be a problem. They just need to see some form of ID. Additionally they are only interested in the credit card. When you get on they will ask for your card details and give you a ship pass. if you buy anything with the pass then the card will be debited.

I have taken 4 Carnival cruises and I have never taken along my marriage license.
My driver's license includes both my maiden and married name.
We sailed with large groups over the last few years and none of the females were asked for marriage licenses.

call and ask to talk to a manager at carnival.
i would have proof when you go to check in YES.
its a safer bet.
if you have a travel agent, they can also get an answer for you.

I have taken 3 Carnival cruises. I have always taken my marriage license, but have never been asked for it. I think that they can tell, because your birth certificate and license have the birthdate, first and middle name in common. But I would still take it just in case.

Never base your action on what just one person says, even if from the cruise line. I would bring as much proof as possible. I would hate to be arguing that you were told you didn't need a document while watching the ship sail away.
Even though a passport is not currently required, in an emergency you would not be able to fly home without one. Get one to be safe.

You need some sort of proof why your name is different. Your marriage certificate will do that.
