On cruise ships, is the food free?

On cruises, do you pay for the food you eat or is it free?

The food for the most part on the boat IS free. All of the food in the dining room and buffets are free. There are also ice cream machines sometimes that are free.

But, there are some REAL dining options where you need to pay for the meal. These are alternatives to the regular dining room or buffets. These are specialty restaurants usually, such as steakhouses, Italian food, etc. Also, there are certain foods you need to pay for such as chocolate covered strawberries at coffee shops on the boat or specialty coffees/drinks.

In your cabin there should be a binder that has all of the information about your boat. In there it should say what the main dining room and buffets are, those are free. There should also be a list of the specialty dining. Check that out and if all else fails ask the front desk. They will tell you which ones are included. The only thing not included in the free meals are the tips for your servers. These will be billed to your room at the end of the cruise.

Happy sailing :) Enjoy all of the delicious food!

the only food you pay for is supper club.

otherwise, everythign but sodas and alcoholic beverages are free.

The food is already paid for by the ticket you bought. There is more food than you can eat, at all times and in many different places available to you.

Dear Mz Pooh:

The food is included....The only way you have to pay for food is if you go to one of the "exclusive restaurants". The regular dining rooms are included in the price of your ticket!!! Some drinks are included....Be aware things like Pepsi and Coke do incur a charge.....Also mixed drinks can be pricey!! Good Luck and enjoy!!!

I Live In Paradise
yes it is

your food is included in the price of your ticket

but there are some meals that are extra if you want to pay for them, like hot chips and meals that are not included but you are advised this before you go

like alcohol and soft drinks are extras have have to pay for them

Abby
it comes with wat u pay in the beginning. unless u go to like an ice cream shop or jonny rockets or somethin on the ship, then u hav to pay, but all of the dining room food is free with ur ticket

Chris
Yes the food is free because the ticket includes the food

Yes the food is free. However, you do have to pay a daily tipping charge (around 10 dollars a day, depending on each cruise) this is in any main dining room. Also, there are some restaurants on the ship where you have to pay a surcharge, which is like 20 or 30 dollars (again, depending on each cruise).
