On the cruise to the Bahamas... dress code for children.?

What is the dress code for children? I know for adults its "formal" after 6pm but what about children? Do they have to dress formal too?
Like my siblings aging from 10-19, I believe the 19 year old would have to be formal since he is considered an adult. Can you confirm this?

Take a look at my other question about the cruise:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AvMxbaXDEz6fy_1G9MH4jOrsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080821190558AAaV8RI

Thanks! Basically the question is: What is the dress code for children 18 or under? [I would like to know more about the dress code after 6pm.]

You forgot to tell us what cruise line you're on and that makes a big difference. I'm also assuming you mean in the dining room at night. Formal nights are the only nights you have to really dress up. I have three daughters and all were in their late teens on our last cruise. On formal nights, they usually wore nice dresses into the dining room, like what you would wear to a wedding. This was on a Carnival cruise. On the other nights, they wore nice dress slacks or casual dresses. A better place for you to find the answers to all your questions is www.cruisecritic.com. On the first page, toward the top, is a link to their message boards. Then on that page, choose your cruise line. If you don't find an answer to your question, then register and ask everyone for help. Good luck and have fun on your cruise. I happen to believe that cruises are the BEST vacation value for your money, especially for different age groups.

It preatty much depends on what youre cruise line says. If it says formal after 18 then it is so at least for the older kids. Ill guess a good rule could be to use the kind of dresses you would use for them if youre wearing what you weare. But check with youre cruise line home page and if youre still unceartain ask them through an email.

If youre going on a major cruise line like Carnival or Royal Carebian then youre find out that there is only formal nights 2 nights of 7. Rest is casual dressing. And you will also find out that the cl want refuge you from the dining room even at formal night if youre wearing what youre have at a downtown reasturant. Remember that bathsuite will be forbidden in resturants all times. Good luck w your cruise and feel free to ask at the pursers desk (or simular) if youre unceartan. Johan

Basically it is formal for whoever is at dinner. That can mean "church clothes or what you'd normally wear at a wedding. you can also go to the cruiselines website and check out the FAQ section. Have fun

yes,
nice clothes would be required for a formal dinner night. However if it is just casual night then they could get away with less dressy.

have a good cruise.

I am not sure what you mean by after 6pm. I have never heard of a cruise that has a dress code for on the ship. Most require you dress up for dinner if you are eating in the Main Dining room. If that is what you mean it depends on the cruise line. Most of the time if possible have them dress up but I have seen kids on the formal nights in jeans. They don't really enforce it that much for children.

It all depends on the cruise line. If they have formal nights then the kids should also dress up.
Have a fun cruise
