I live in Florida and love to use the cruse lines as my family vacations, it's cheaper than Disney, and more fun for us.

I use carnival they have 5 ports in Florida: Tampa, Orlando/Port Canaveral, Ft Laurderdale, Miami, and Jacksonville.

http://www.carnival.com

sign up and use the vacation planners they can get you the best deals, lower than any other.

I have found that www.cruise411.com and www.cruise.com consistently have the best prices and give the most for my money. If the cruise lines offer on board credit or give aways they will go the extra mile to make sure you get it.

Also, if you enjoy a challenge, go to www.skyauction.com and click on cruises. A fun way to plan your vacation!!

Nevertheless, long term travelers know that travel agents are definitely the way to go if you want to make sure your vacation is hassle free and more importantly need a lifeline if something goes wrong. Websites cannot and in most cases do not assist if trouble arises. Besides, the travel agent's services are not paid for by you so you stand to gain the advantage of someone experienced who can advise you on where and when to travel inexpensively without the risk of added hidden costs.

Bon Voyage!!

I work in the cruise industry. The only way to get a cheap deal is to go to a travel agent, online provider, or other travel profession to see if they have a group rate or will let go of their commission. Some will and most won't. There is no such thing as getting a cheap cruise. If you find one rate on one site most likely it will be the same on most others. But it is true that Sep is the cheapest time to go.

The cruise lines now make the Travel Agents sell cruises at the same prices so you will not see much price variance. However, the TAs will often give you other incentives to book with them such as OBC, free upgrades or shore excruisions or cruis insurance. Check out cruisecompete.com You list the cruise you want to go on and Travel Agents bid for your business.

Why do all the work? Call a Travel Agent and have them find the lowest priced cruise for the itinerary you want. If you're not experienced with everything you have to pull together for a cruise, then I wouldn't risk trying to do it on line and just put my trust into a travel agent. Ask friends or co-workers to refer you to someone they've worked with.
