Passports ??!! Traveling on the Conquest Carnival !?

If your trip is June 2009 or after, you will need a Passport or the new Passcard.

If your trip returns before June 1, 2009, you only need a valid picture ID and a certified copy of your birth certificate.

If you are returning after June 1, 2009 and you don't usually travel internationally by air, the new Passcard is a great option. It is cheaper and a bit easier to get. Details on the passcard at:

We have sailed on the Conquest twice and have a 3rd trip planned for June 2009.

Tips...park at Lighthouse Parking...cheaper and better logistics than the cruise terminal.

Don't miss the Warm Chocolate Melting Cake! The Asian Cafe is great and if you like seafood, the Sur Mur on the upper level of the Cezzane. Also, if the Cezzane is crowded, the upper level usually has alot of available tables and it is much more quite.

If you get off the ship in Jamacia, stay with a Carnival sponsored tour.

You do need a passport to go out of the country. If the cruise isn't leaving the country than you don't need one.

Right now you won't need a passport to cruise - unless there is some type of emergency that requires you to leave the cruise and fly home....

Don't try to go on your own in Jamaica unless you've done a lot of traveling and can deal with VERY aggressive people who try to tell you all kinds of things, legal and not. There have even been problems with ship excursions in Jamaica. Some cruise lines are dropping Jamaica as a stop due to complaints from passengers.

You don't have to have a passport to go on the cruise. It wouldn't hurt to have one though. It doesn't cost that much and it's always nice to have in case something comes up. They take a little while to get so it's nice to have and not have to wait around. They last for 10 years too. You don't need it though for the cruise.

If you don't have a passport, all you need is a govenment issued photo id (driver's license) and your original birth certificate. You only have to pull these documents out when you are getting on the boat for the first time and leaving for the last time. They give you a card that stores all that info, so when you get off at the different ports of call you only have to carry around your DL and the card they give you.

no you don't but it depends when your going. i think april of 2009 they are making it official that you have a passport. but as long as you go before then, then u are good. especially if they told you you'll be fine. haven't traveled on the conquest. going on the carnival legend soon! Jamaica has a lot of poverty if thats what you mean.?.? have fun!
