I hope you are asking what questions you should ask before booking a cruise. I assume you are going to be speaking to or interviewing travel agents (TA) and not calling the cruise line directly.
So, ask what experience the TA has with cruising (not booking cruises, but actually being a passenger on a cruise).
What qualifications does the TA have. What certificates has the TA earned? What travel related organizations does the TA and the agency belong to? How many different lines does the TA work with?
What is the cancellation policy?
After you tell the TA what you are interested in, the TA should make recommendations. Then ask for the reasons the TA made those recommendations.
Ask about the price. What is included? What is not included. What additional fees will have to be paid? What additional fees are optional? When does the cruise have to be paid for and when do the other fees have to be paid for?
What amenities are there on the ship?
What documentation is needed to go on the cruise?
If you have any special needs, ask how those will be handled.
Ask what a typical day on the ship is like. Ask what a typical day ashore is like.
Ask to look at brochures. Do you identify with the people in the brochures? If not, then that might not be the best choice of cruises for you.
Ask some hard questions where the answer is something you don't want to hear. The TA should be willing to tell you both the good and the bad. Don't use a TA that you are not comfortable with or who you don't feel is being totally honest with you. Don't use a TA that only tells you what you want to hear. Don't use a TA that only sells cruises for one cruise line (unless you have already decided to go with that cruise line), or just pushes one cruise line. |

Sounds like you're starting from "square one"!
Go to the library and check out some books about cruising. There are many, many questions you need to ask about a cruise and such books will give you info and help you formulate the questions you need to ask. |

Ask when payments will be due. If you are booking a last minute deal (8 to 12 weeks out), final payment will be due at time of booking - be prepared. I've seen many people disappointed when they realize that they only have a day (or less) to make the full payment. |
