Questions about cruise, please help!!!!?

I am going on a trip for 4th of July weekend to the Bahamas with my fiancee and we are trying to keep the cost down, my travel agent suggested "Imperial Majesty" but i looked at the reviews and it looks like its bad. Can you tell me if you had a good experience! also if we book with Royal Caribean is it worth to upgrade to ocean view? i dont want to because i dont think we will be in the room but my fiancee insists. i have never been on a cruise! help please!
i also read that the best deals are last minute 0nes. is that true? and if we book a guarantee room is it possible to get an upgrade?
Thanks for all the help to all experienced Cruisers!!!!!! :)

An ocean view is up to personal preference. Interior is much cheaper. The only problem I have with interior cabins is, they get very dark. That means it very easy to sleep well into the morning. If you want to get up and make the most of the day, this probably isn't very ideal. On the other hand, that's really the only time the window will come in handy, unless you plan on spending a lot of time in your cabin. If you don't plan on sitting in your cabin most of the day (most people don't), then maybe an interior cabin will work. But if the wife insists...

If you book a guarantee, there is a chance you will get upgraded. It's not set in stone, but the possibility is there. You'd get upgraded if your cabin category (interior for example) got sold out. Then you would be upgraded for free. Just keep in mind that the cruise line chooses your cabin with a guarantee. So if there's a particular spot you want to be, it might be better to select a specific cabin. Again, the choice is yours. There are pros and cons to either decision.

Last minute deals can be cheap, but not necessarily. I think it really depends on the cruise, the ship, the line, etc. For the 4th of July, you probably won't be getting any big discounts, if any at all.

If you have any more questions, please ask!

RCCL is nice and I think that this is all theyre ships. Majesty want have the latest high tech things such as the ice rink or the wall climbing facility but if you can live without it its fine.

I would advice you to get a window cabin. Nothing beat the experience of looking out at the ocean from your own cabin and it will help ya judging the weather before getting dreased and like. For first time cruisers I would def recomend a window cabin... Good luck and enjoy your sailing! Johan

I have never been on the Imperial Majesty but I can tell you that if you are the least bit claustrophobic then upgrade to the oceanview. The rooms are small and confined but the window give you the feeling of more openness. You will also be able to sense day from night in your room as an interior has only artificial light. If none of these matter to you then get the interiors and save the money.

well a inside room is the cheapest and if your going on a short cruise(5 days or less) then there great..use room service breakfast for your wake up if your afraid of sleeping late. they also have wake up service.. take a watch with you to keep track of time in your room. it's a little late to expect much of a upgrade but guarantee is the cheapest way to go inside or out.. i book that way all the time but i book way ahead and sometimes i get a good upgrade and some times not much.

Like any cruise line some like it while others do not. As far as an ocean view is nothing more than a porthole that maybe blocked by a lifeboat. If you want to keep the cost down then an inside cabin will do fine. Too many great things to do & see on deck to stay in your cabin. Booking early is always best. A guaranteed cabin you may get an upgrade or not. Usually the up grades are given to people who are repeat guests. As far as 1 ship or the other keep in my that not everyone likes the same things. Alot depends on the other people on the cruise. But, do not worry these ships are very big & you can always find another place to enjoy your cruise.
ENJOY.

Royal Caribbean is good. Not necessary to get ocean view
as during sailing, nothing we can see from inside room window anyway and there are lots activities that you can join.
