Cruise ships have their own fresh water supply. A cruise is a great way to see new places, meet new people from all over of all ages and walks of life.
I would suggest you check you daily charges either on the TV in your cabin or at the front desk in the main lobby.
Buy your souvenirs in ports of call and save.
Do not make any from calls from the phone in your cabin to anyone you know. Very costly.
The pictures they take on the ship are great but, average between $10. to $25. each.
The most important thing you can bring with you is your common sense. Don't go anywhere alone alcohol costs alot.
Take a good camera and plenty of film.
Enjoy.

Cruise ships have their own water treatment plant on board.

They purify the water from the sea water

You can sign up to take a free tour of the ship once you set sail, they take you through the ship to areas you wouldn't otherwise be allowed to go, they explain how the ship works and how you get clean water, they even have a littley recycling plant on board, a morgue, and a chapel ! I have been on 2 cruises, first make sure you bring a pair of flip flops with some good grip on the bottom because you can really feel the ship rocking when you're in the shower and it's easy to slip ! Also, bring some laxatives, im telling you you're going to get bloated from over-eating lol...also bring enough clothes so you can change twice a day...sunscreen is important, and bring lots of one dollar bills for tipping. Have fun and enjoy...im jealous i want to go on another cruise !

the only water that cruise ships use from the ocean is the pool water. It is very salty, and they replace it every morning.

They have a water tank on board. They are always stressing water conservation. The toilets use very little water because they are pressurized. The pools usually use filtered sea water. When you first get on board, the water level in the pools will be low. Once they get going, they start the pumps and filters and get the level up.

They should have lots of activities when you are sailing (bingo, trivia, ...), but once you get to a destination, just about everyone disembarks. Book your excursions early so you don't get left out.
