Definitely royal caribbean. They had the best service and entertainment. There is so much to do. I also recommend Princess Cruise Line. Their food was really good. But Princess is more for the older crowd. Royal Caribbean has a mixture of every age group. Carnival has a lot of kids.

If cost is a factor Carnival may price lower.

Well Ive been traveling royal and have only good things to say about em. Service and reasturants was great (even thou main resturant was closed during lunch) so I would definately recomend royal carebiean and theyre latest ship (freedom and oasis) is said to be awesome and even got theyre own ice rinks (I am not sure if oasis got it thou).

With this said I think carnival is preatty much the same even thou I got the feeling theyre more dizzle and dazzle cruises than royal. I would say that if youre into las vegas rather than your ordinary resort then youre choice is carnival. But again all the big sevens are preatty much the same. Johan.

I have done Carnival Destiny and Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas. And I think I know why Star Angel says Carnival Destiny.

Last year Carnival Destiny had an AMAZING CRUISE out of San Juan. This is now being done by the Carnival Victory and I am going on it in Feb. Normally on a 7 day cruise most ships make 3-4 stops with 2-3 Sea days HOWEVER the Victory (last year Destiny) Leaves from San Juan and visits St Thomas, St Kits, Barbados, St Lucia, Dominica and Antigua. That is a different port EVERYDAY and it is VERY AFFORDABLE. so That gets my vote for best itinerary.

HOWEVER Royal Caribbean had better entertainment and the ship was slightly "nicer" If money is no object then I would go for one of the Newer RCI ships with the ice skating ring, Rock Climbing wall and more because While carnival has water slides and out door movie theaters the ice shows are REALLY Cool.

Night life on both ships are good and they always say carnival is more "glitzy" but who cares because they are all "fancy/tacky/gaudy". Both have great staffs and crew and you can't loose. Go with the one with the best deal and itinerary. I also would not count out Norwegian Cruise Lines. They are quite nice too.

I've only been on Carnival (4 times) and I loved it- there are some kids around but that's why I only travel when school is in session. My mother loves Royal Caribbean but my aunt-in-law went on a RC cruise two years ago, the ship crashed into the port and then caused all kinds of grief when they were trying to get home- took a year to get a partial refund (although Yahoo! was great in helping her get more money back even though it wasn't their fault).
