Well, based on two previous cruises with Ocean Village (part of Carnival) which we loved, we've booked a caribbean cruise on Royal Caribbean - purely because you get room service included and the kids facilities are incredible. Our neighbours have cruised with RC and thought it was fantastic.
Sorry, should clarify, I meant RC has room service as opposed to Ocean Village (not the other carnival cruises); OV is more basic and informal. |

Not sure what Spannera is talking about, both of those lines have room service.
Both lines are mass market, so the amenities are similar. RCL has more stuff to do, but tiny little rooms. Carnival is generally acknowledged to have the better food and entertainment of the two.
As a previous poster said, a lot depends on the particular ship - more than the Line.
I would not worry about which line as much as finding an itenerary you would like, and a good price. Christmas cruises are notoriously expensive. And either one will be filled with children and families during the Holiday period. |
