If you are young and want to party, go with Carnival. If you are young and want to have a quality cruise go with RC.
If you read the forums at http://www.cruisecritic.com you will see that both lines are rated very highly by the contributors.
I prefer RC for a quieter time, but Carnival caters well for families and groups. |

Definitely Royal Caribbean. Carnival is for the very young and lively. |

I have been on three Carnival cruises and have one future Carnival cruise booked. I have been on two Royal Caribbean cruises and have three future Royal Caribbean cruises book.
Basically the two lines are very similar. Personally I think Carnival has slightly better food. The service on both seem about the same. All the Carnival ships have water slides while all the Royal Caribbean ships have rock climbing walls.
The bigger Royal Caribbean ships have some fun extras like an ice skating rink and on the Voyager class, an inline skating track. On the Freedom class the Flowrider (a surfing simulator) takes the place of the inline skating track. The Freedom class ships also have a mini water park known as the H2O Zone.
Personally I am happy with both and will continue to cruise on both. |

Royal Caribbean. They have better ships and service. The food is better, and they have lots of activities, and great itineraries. |

Deffinately Royal Caribbean, they still have dress standards for evenings, lots of activities and the crews have always been great. |

Depends on what you are looking for. Both are excellent cruise lines for the general market. The food is comparable on both. Royal Caribbean ships are probably a little more innovative than the Carnival Ships. All things considered both cruise lines are probably very similar. So the determining factor would probably be the itinerary of both lines. Which line has a port close to you and what are the destinations that they will sail to. |

Another option is Norwegian Cruise line, freestyle cruising isn't for everyone but some really prefer it.

Royal Carribean by far. I just got off of Carnival (triumph) in Sept. and wish I would have stayed with Royal. The stops were great. but the food was not the eggs are the powdered ones....the pool was so little it seemed more like a huge hot tub....the decor. was very tacky. The staff was very nice. The drinks seemed like they were watered down. The shows and clubs don't start until almost mid-night...so after dinner until then not much to do. I loved Royal..... |

Depends on what u are looking for. Royal C for the best in food, entertainment, and over all. Carnival is best for the family and lowest prices. |

ive never been on a cruise but i know a bunch of people who went on carnival and loved it. Royal Carribean has a cool name that sounds very fancy. You want to keep the name in consideration because you want to impress people about where your going. Ok JK . Carnival is what i recomend. |
