Don't cancel your cruise.
The cruise line will not allow any of it's ships to go anywhere near a hurricane. If there is no other option the cruise line will cancel the cruise and you will get your money back or the option of another cruise.
If you cancel at this late date you will lose your money, read the cancellation terms, you will be lucky if you get 10% back.
Travel insurance won't help, if you cancel without a valid reason you'll get nothing from them either. |

Ask the Carnival Cruise customer service how they feel on the safety issues of taking 1000s of people out in the ocean during hurricane season. If they are will to take the ship out, then the must feel some safety. They wouldn't take people out and just hope that everything went well. They wouldn't let that possibility hang in the air that they could have a mass death on their hands and lawsuits. They will think it through and whatever their answer is to you, I would trust it. |

nahh
if it is a hazard, the cruise ship will cancel it all together
and it will probably be rescheduled for another time |

No I'm pretty sure that if the hurricanes were a vaild concern the cruise line itself would cancel the cruise. The last thing the cruise line wants is a bunch of negative publicity because people got hurt/died on one of their ships. |

Why would you book a cruise in the middle of September if you are worried about hurricanes? Most hurricanes happen in September.....every year the news reports devastation all the time in September. A cruise line will not sail into the hurricane and you will be safe. Next time when you book a cruise you should book November through March. |

First, Hurricane season is from July to November with August and September being the really bad months. There are two storms coming through right now, Hanna and Ike. Hanna has just swept through the Bahamas and is moving towards the east coast of the US. So this is not a really great time to be doing an Eastern Caribbean cruise. While the cruise ships will avoid the hurricanes and switch ports if necessary, the water will be rough so expect a fair amount of movement on the ship as well as just lousy weather. Normally a large cruise liner will not rock and you will barely notice any movement at all. At this point in time you probably can not cancel your cruise without a significant loss, so its up to you if you want to go. I would never worry about safety because, as previously said, if there were any true danger the ship would cancel as the safety of the passenger and crew is paramount. (as well as protection from lawsuits) You can still have a great time on a cruise in bad weather but you miss a lot of the "beach" experience for which St. Thomas and St. Martin are famous. If you have lousy weather in Nassau you can always go to the big dig aquarium. Tough choice but I wish you the best. |

No. The cruise line will determine whether or not it is safe to continue with the cruise. Since it is a major cruise line, I would trust their judgement. |

No don't cancel. You are perfectly safe. If there looks like there is a problem the cruise line will take the initiative and cancel the cruise. If you cancel it, you will not be refunded - so why flush your money away? The cruise ships deal with the hurricane factor every year and they are very experienced in avoiding and/or knowing when the cancel. |

cruise ships DO NOT sail into storms or hurricanes as they have to protect their passengers and the ship. if there is any reason they cant go before its safe they will cancell the cruise. relax and enjoy your cruise, it will be great |

If you cancel your cruise at this point, you will probably get no money back. the cruise will definitely not go into the hurricane, it will either go to another port, or if there are no other ports available, the cruise will give you 100% of your money back, or will let you book another Carnival cruise. The cruise will do whatever it can to stay far away from the hurricane. definitely don't cancel your cruise, that would be a shame. Just because the hurricane is headed to where your going doesn't matter that it will still be there. The ship will NOT head into the storm, it will stay far away from it. The ship has awesome technology with radars and such about the storms and the passenger's safety is their number one concern. you can still have an awesome cruise even if you dont go to the ports as planned, because then you will most likely go to different ports that have nothing to do with the hurricane.
Hope this helps!!!! (: |

If you have cruise insurance and are worried about traveling then [assuming your insurance covers hurricanes as a reason to cancel], then you do that. However, cruise lines do not sail into hurricanes. You may have a change in itinerary [and this sounds like one of those times], but you can still sail to different ports where there is no stormy weather.

if you get your money back yes, because of hurricane season from april to november, if you can't, roll on and they will cancel it for you and give you a refund. |

first of all hurricane season is in august and you are leaving in september. secondly, if you have never been on a cruise before you will soon realize that it is well worth any fear that you may have because it is amazing. cruises are so fun they keep you constantly entertained, its great. they wont put you in danger because if they did they would lose millions of dollars left and right in law suits. there hasnt been a problem with a cruise in so long, what makes you think it would be you? dont worry about it and just enjoy yourself! |
