Should I expect a quiet cruise in early December?

Going to the Western Caribbean on Carnival Nov 30-Dec7 of this year...I'm thinking kids will be in of school, the working population will be going back to work after Thanksgiving. A quiet cruise is fine with me but I would like some liveliness...whats your take???

I went to the Eastern Carribean the first week of December last year and it was great. Weather was only bad one day out of the five day cruise. (Took my wife's and my mother so a longer cruise was out of the question as both are in their late 70's) Water was a little choppy as this was just after hurricane season but you barley felt it on the big ships. I prefer to cruise in the April- May time frame, but the first week of December is a good time to go and the prices are usually extremely good. As for children, they will always be there as will the party goers, but their are still plenty of quite places you can go on the ship. The Lido deck by the main pool will be loud with live bands and lots of interactive activities. The buffet and alternative dining is there as well so it tends to be the central area of activities. Read your Capers newletter everyday so you know what is going on aboard ship and schedule your day accordingly. Don't miss the shopping and excursion discussions as they always give away free stuff (sit down front) Finally check out the boat when you first get there so you don't end up wasting your first day or so trying to find out where everything is. We had a great time and I'm sure you will too.

Oh, don't worry there will be plenty of partying going on. Yes your cruise will not have tons of kids, but there will be kids. Even when I went on a 29 day cruise in April, the ship still had kids on board, not many but they did have them. The weather is great that time of the year in the Caribbean and you will have just as much fun at that time as any other time of the year.

My guess is that it will be fairly quiet. When school is in session, you usually get more couples an sr citizens. There will of course be some partying going on but it will be much quieter than a spring break or a summer cruise.

It should be a lovely time to travel on a cruise! It won't be crawling with kids, but there is always plenty to do. Enjoy!
