Should I use carnival criuse for my honeymoon? Why?

I've been on 11 cruises (8 with Carnival), and my fiannce and I are going on #12 (for me) on Conquest next month for our honeymoon.

Carnival is all about fun and high energy -=- so it that is what you have in mind it is an excellent value

You get to see more than one place, you get all the food you can eat and 24 hour entertainment.

It really depends on what you enjoy and want to do. Carnival tends to be less expensive and gives you greater value for your money. Royal Carribean is more expensive and generally a little more upscale.(However on comparable ships Carnival's room are bigger) If you have a budget you would probably want to use Carnival otherwise you might want to consider Royal Carribean or Celebrity. (However it is worth it to spend the extra and get a balcony room) On average Carnival is a younger party crowd so if that is what you are interested in then your would want to consider Carnival. But don't expect that to be always true. I went on the Elation last December and it was a decidedly older crowd. This worked out fine for me since I was taking my mother and mother-in-law for a cruise (both are late 70's.I took the Triumph in June of this year and the crowd was more my age (around 50) I took the Conquest two years ago and the crowd was decidedly younger and I had the best vacation since my honeymoon (In Hawaii). The food will depend on the Chef. The Triumph's food was the best the Elations the worst. I have been to many 5 star restaurants around this country and while the food may not always be as good it is pretty close. Having said all of that the decision is really yours but don't be scared off by people who have either never cruised Carnival or had a bad experience and never went back. I had a horrible cruise 20 years ago and it took me 18 years to do it again...that was i big mistake. Cruising gives you an opportunity to visit several different countries without ever unpacking on board a traveling Vegas. Just remember be sure to make a real effort to find out what is going on (read the ship newsletter and seek out the cruise director for information he will be readily available and want to help you) and I know you're on your Honeymoon (room service is free) but do get out of your cabin go dancing, see some shows, get dressed up for the formal dinners and have a great time.

Absolutely not. Carnival DOES, however, own many of the other cruiselines, but they allow the other lines to carry most of their own traditions.

I am a former crewmember for Princess Cruises. I have seen firsthand how they treat honeymooners. I would highly recommend looking into a Princess Cruise. I am no longer an employee and I do not get compensated for the recommendation. As a civilian, I still cruise with no other cruise line.

Consider the Caribbean Princess. She is a new, VERY LARGE ship with an outdoor movie theater (under the stars) and lots to do. The Star Princess is her twin, but doesnt have the theater. Be sure to book a balcony stateroom. The upgrade is well worth it. Best of luck to you and congrats.

Carnival is geared towards a younger crowd, and it's
cheaper than most, so it's not as upscale or nice. the
food isn't as good, and there will be more kids. It's more
of a "party" crowd, (who doesn't care so much about quality)
than an upscale, more mature crowd who will want nicer
food, etc.

My husband and I went on a Carnival cruise to the Mexican Riviera for our honeymoon and had a blast. True, we did see lots of kids the day we boarded but since Carnival has a kids club we figured we wouldn't run into them much. In fact, I only recall seeing lots of kids around the pool areas and of course in the dining room. There were lots of activities and we went on some fun excursions. The day we boarded we went to see the maitre'd and he was able to give us a table for two for every dinner service except the first night.

No, I would use a smaller ship for my honeymoon. Much nicer as the crew would be able to give you that little bit more attention. Also nicer because you don't have thousand (or more) people around you.

for a honeymoon i would recommend Royal Caribbean. You'll find more kids and teens on Carnival. Royal Caribbean is more upscale.

my wife and i took Carnival's Tropicale for our honeymoon. we had to fly to San Juan to embark and had 6 ports of calls in 7 days (Southern Caribbean) since my wife didn't want to "be stuck" at an all inclusive for 7 days. we thoroughly enjoyed it. we got married May 10 of '91 so kids were still in school.

depends on the ship and the time of year you are going. carnival liberty and spirit are both beautiful ships. we did carnival for ours but we booked it two weeks before our wedding and got a really good deal and didnt care what the ship looked like lol.they actually had a bottle of wine for us in our room and a honeymoon cake and sang to us which was cute. if you are in your 20's or 30's carnival is your age range. royal caribbean is a good line that is a little bit more in cost. go to cruisecritic.com and do research before you go.

Are you both young and active and like to have fun? Go with Carnival.

Are you older and more sedate? Go with Holland American Line.

I wouldn't use Carnival Cruise ever, let alone a Honeymoon. Plus you have a much greater chance of just getting bombarded by children. Not a big fan of NCL either. For a cruise I would suggest almost any other line than this, but depending on your age group and interests would determine which I thought was best.

I would recommend speaking with a travel specialist on helping you with your Honeymoon. After all it IS a once in a lifetime trip!
