I just went on a Carnival cruise this past weekend. They do not have any sort of alcohol scanner or anything. It is actually quite easy to get through "security." A few of us put alcohol bottles into our suitcases and tipped the porter a few extra dollars. Our bags were delivered to our room with no problems about the alcohol.

Your gatorade idea is well thought out, but you will be okay if you just pack them into your suitcases.

If you or your buddy gets caught, they will probably kick ALL of you off at the next stop and ALL of you will have to find your own way home and pay for it.

I would advise leaving the alcohol at home because the consequences are costly and kills the vacation. You can have fun without it and, you need more than one parent to go because each underage (under 21) needs a parent or guardian that is 25+ to stay with them in the rooms. There is no way to get around that. They will your ages before you board..

And how exactly do you expect to get away with drinking the "watered down" alcholol without someone catching on? What happens when the gatorade is gone?

I'd just skip the alcohol and that way you won't get your chaperone in trouble, because after all, if you are caught it won't be you who suffers, but your chaperone. They could get in trouble for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

You can't scan alcohol. I'm not advocating underage drinking, but people usually put it in Dasani water bottles or a mouthwash bottle. It would look suspicious bringing 2 or 3 large bottles of mouthwash for a 7 night cruise, however. You don't have to water it down, just put in an appropriate bottle, for instance, whiskey would look legit in a diet coke bottle, colored booze, I'd use a PowerAid bottle, and so on and so forth. Pack these items in your checked luggage. Airlines don't allow fluids in your carry on anymore, unless it's limited to one ounce and ZipLoc'ed.

hmm.. u should be good

i always bring alcohol on carnival. i buy it at the first port, and carry it in my bag right on the boat. you are supposed to check the alcohol, but i have never had a problem.
