I bring mine in water bottles (for clear liquor) or in mouth wash bottles. Don't flaunt it and be discrete and no one will take it away. At least no one has ever taken mine away. I do recommend changing it into a plastic bottle though - I do know people that have had there glass bottles broken. The luggage handlers aren't any more gentle than the ones in the airport. |

You put it in your 'check in luggage'
They screen your bags and take them upto your room for you. they don't remove any liquids or anything unless its dangerous.
I carried a bottle of vodka on my cruise a couple of months ago. It saves alot. Definately worth being cheap here.
Some cruise lines even charge for bottled water (european cruises mostly). And like 4euro a bottle. crazy. Thats when you meet other cheap people like us. I saw this guy carrying 8 bottles of bottled water in his hands-when stuff is that expensive, noone cares about looking cheap. |

i think you should just put the bottle right in your suitcase, surrounded by clothes and what not. when i went on a cruise, i packed a box of wine right in to my suit case and nobody ever caught me! they randomly search bags. so chances are they won't even search yours. or if you're worried about it, you could buy a bottle of listerine or something and empty it out and clean it out and then pour the jack in to that. i had friends do that with no problem. |

Put it in your check in luggage. Done it many times, and have never been caught. In an unlikely event of a search, the staff can easily be bought off with a $20, and you get to keep your bottle. |

booze isn't all the expensive, not on Princess, a cocktail worked out at about £3 50p. I paid £17 for a cocktail in Dublin |

I went on a Royal Caribbean cruise, and when checking in I had a little liquor in my "carry on" bag. Like the over sized purse I was carrying. My bag was not checked.
My luggage, I have no idea. But it's worth a shot. When the bags were delivered to our suite, there was no sign of our bags being opened. We did however check in early.
If you're flying to the port, I'd suggest that you stop off somewhere to fill up and re-arrange your luggage to get the liquor into your bags.
Also, when we were in Cozumel, we purchased a lot of tequila and were able to take it right into our suite without having it checked.
For us, it worked. Maybe it depends on the cruise line. It's worth a shot though.
Good Luck! |

Yeah, yeah. You can smuggle it in your luggage and maybe it will work. But why not buy it in the liquor store aboard the ship? I have sailed Royal Caribbean and Princess and they have liquor stores selling hard liquor by the bottle at good prices. No hassle. |

I've always just packed it in my check-in luggage. It may be because I purchased my air fare through the cruise line they didn't bother taking it out. I also bring a blender with me which is great because they have a ton of fresh fruit on the buffet.
I have a friend who sailed on Norwegian and they did take it out of his checked luggage and gave it back to him at the end of the cruise. That made me nervous so I bought some nalgene bottles at REI and labeled them "shampoo" and "mouthwash".
Also, when sailing in the Caribbean where booze is pretty cheap, I've never had them take it out of my carry-on coming back aboard from the port.
The booze in the ship store is pretty pricey. I think two litres (they are only 750 ml at my liquor store) of Jose Cuervo Gold is $30 in Charlotte Amalie. |
