Solo Cruise to Mexico (Princess Dawn)? |
My sister and her boyfriend just broke up. Unfortunately, they had already paid for a cruise on Princess and so they are still going and sharing the cabin but they aren't "together." She is worried that she will not have a good time because she'll basically be cruising alone. Does anyone have any suggestions for having a good "solo" cruise or meeting other "solos" on the cruise? |

Don't take the boyfriend.
You go with your sister and have a great time. |

Cruise ships are very good for solo travelers because the social director will always have something like a mixer for solo travelers to connect with other solo travelers. If you are an extrovert there are plenty of things to do. Walk or jog on the sports deck in the mornings. Go to the gym, Take aerobics. There is always someone to talk with. I went on the Coral Princess to Alaska and enjoyed it. |

Most cruise ships have get togethers for singles. SO she can just go to one of those at the beginning of the cruise and she will meet people, Also the ship will have plenty of places where she can just hang out and meet people. The pool, the gym, and all of the lounges and well as at the dinner table. |

sounds like the makings of a Springer episode. all we need are the camera crews....
Sorry, but this sounds like a really bad idea. Unless they end up back together, one or both will have a miserable time. |

They always have get togethers for singles tell her to look on the itenerary that they get on the ship. Also check out www.cruisecritic.com
They have soemthing called Roll Call, and its a message board of people that are going on specific cruises. I checked it when i took my last cruise and got to meet some really cool people |

If she gets into the right mood and acts like a single person and her ex boyfriend is just a cabin mate, she can have a great time. If she is scheduled for traditional dinning with her ex, then as soon as she gets on the ship, have her change to another seating or anytime dining. After that, there are lots of places she can go on the Dawn to have a great time from the bars, the casino's, and the shows or movies too. The main thing is for her to be in the right mood and let him do his own thing and she does her own thing. |
