Taking a cruise alone?

I'd consult a travel agent for a Singles Theme cruise. I know I went on one with a cousin--but for all intents and purposes I was alone and I didn't like it at all. I kept wishing I had someone to do these things with. Someone to take pictures of us here, someone to take a "sunset cruise" with. But if it is a Singles cruise and everyone is there for the intent of meeting people, it would be very easy to find someone on the ship to hang out with and do those things with.

I think if you took a cruise that wasn't a singles cruise, dining would be awkward. I know they try to set up the tables based on if they think you have common interests. I know on my honeymoon, everyone at my table was on their honeymoon as well. But if you were at a table with everyone who was on their honeymoon, i'd think it would be awkward.

Also I'd recommend a smaller ship (perhaps a smaller cruiseline). If there are fewer people you tend to be able to meet more people and see the same people more often than on a Freedom of the Seas sized ship.

Good luck and definitely talk to a travel agent to help you with the planning! AAA has some great ones.

I agree w/ previous poster. I'd try to find a singles themed cruise- or else you might just end up meeting families and couples.

There are single cruises and Carnival will be mostly families with lots of kids, try another cruise line. Also work with your local travel agent and they will do the leg work for you and also be in control of your booking so it doesn't get screwed up. The cost is the same to you if you go direct or use them.
Have fun. always way more girls than guys on a ship so you will have your pick. Hope you DANCE!

they are always more women than men on a cruise and cruise lines they love to have single men to entertain the ladies have good time man!!

I agree with the other suggestions of looking for a singles cruise, especially since it might be your cheapest option.

Remember, cruise pricing is per person based on double occupancy. Singles typically have to pay a single supplement that is at least 100% of the cruise fare, although it's usually closer to 120%. Unfortunately, that's not a typo...

I would advise trying a "singles" cruise. Also you're often paired with dinner partners who are traveling in a similar situation to yourself (age is also a factor they use to decide this). If you are traveling solo, it's likely you'll be seated with other single travelers in your age group.
