Tanning before cruise?

How much should I pay for 6 weeks of tanning? How long should you stay in the tanning bed when you first start out?

She's not tanning forever guys. I think tanning is smart so you won't burn horribly on vacation. Since you are starting with enough time, I would suggest going for low times fairly often. If you are very fair, you should start at 6 minutes. Keep it there for at least a few times and move up only one minute when you are ready. I would go every 2-3 days to start. Ask them to tell you if they change bulbs, because you should knock your time down just a bit.

Most places have different level beds. It is best to alternate, but a level one will get you tan too. If you have enough money, start in a level 3 or 4, then drop to level ones and switch it up.

Don't feel like you have to go the maximum time to get results. It is better not to burn. Aside from being terrible for your skin, it will set you back because of peeling. For example, I have very light skin, and I never got over 16 minutes in a level one (goes to 20 min), and I never hit the max in the higher level beds. I had a nice tan too. I suggest going nude and covering your face for half of the time.

Different areas have different rates, but a lot of them run specials for first time customers. Look for ads/coupons. Look around on the internet. For example, there is a tanning salon in MD that only charges $18.88 for unlimited tanning, and others that charge much more.

I start 1 month prior and pay $59.00 unlimited use, and do 9 minutes at a time. Works well for me. HAPPY TANNING

It depends on your skin type.

If you are likely to burn easily or if you haven't tanned in awhile (as in, it is now spring and you've been cooped up all winter), most tanning centers will recommend that your 1st session lasts only 5-7 minutes and if you don't burn, then go longer the next time.

The tanning schedule that was recommended for me was this (I haven't been tanning all winter, but I have a medium complexion and tan fairly easily):
Tan 1: 7 min
Tan 2: 10 min (shut off face tanner after 5 min bc 7 min made me red-faced)
Tan 3: 10 min
Tan 4: 12 min
Tan 5: 12 min
Tan 6: 15 min
I'm sure you get the picture. Never go more than 20 min.

I was told that in order to keep building on your tan, it is best to begin about a month before you intend to leave and tan once every 1-3 days until you have a "base" tan, then once every 2-6 days to maintain it until your trip.

Oh and as far as what to pay for: one month of unlimited or 10-15 tans (whichever is cheaper) should be more than you need.

Well, I am going on a cruise in early June. I am thinking about starting to tan in late April/ early May. We have tons of tan salons around where I live, so they are all in competition, I can get a month of unlimited use for about $15.

Please don't use a tanning bed. Do you really want skin cancer? Go get a spray-on tan instead.
