Well there are cruises to just about anywhere you want to go and cruises for all price ranges, size of ship, and cruise amenities.
Without knowing what your budget is or what you and your husbands like to do, I will give you some suggestions.
Fun in the Sun: Cruises in the caribbeans are great for having fun in warm water and beautiful beaches under the hot sun.
Western Caribbean cruises usually leave from Florida and New Orleans, Galveston, TX and covers, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Costa Maya Mexico.
Eastern Caribbean covers Bahamas, USVI, St. Maarten, Puerto Rico.etc. Southern Caribbean covers Aruba, Bonaire, Tortola, Grenada..etc.
Alaskan cruises run during summer months in US. late May to Mid September, due to cold weather and icebergs in the water in other months.
That's always a majestic ride through beautiful scenary, but you should definitely get a balcony room for the alaskan cruises.
Mexican cruises out of california can run from 3 days to 7 days, which is okay (My opinion)
Mediterranean cruises covers southern Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey usually... very nice but expensive due to flying to Europe.
If I had to suggest a romantic cruise for an anniversary for a newcomver to cruising.. then I would have to recommend a 7 night cruise to the western caribbean. It is very economical if you can avoid the summer months, where school is out and the hurricane season which runs late in to october. (even though technically hurricane season doesn't end til November)
Cost average is about $100 per person per day for crusing, but you can find a bargain during off season or pay more for newer bigger megaships. Royal Caribbean's larger ships such as the Freedom of the Seas would take you from Miami, Labadee (Private Island), Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel and back.
Princess is a bit more upscale as far are refinements go. It is a very well appointed and not so much glitzy as some of the other cruiselines. Well worth the little extra.
You can contact me if you have further questions on any cruises. I've cruised enough to share some of my experiences and expertise. Good luck and Congratulations on 10 years! |

Depends on your lifestyle and income.
There really are no "bad" cruises. Your actual cruise experience has a lot to do with your expectations.
For me, the best cruise line in the non-luxury category is Celebrity. The best destinations would be Europe, Hawaii, or the PPanama Canal. |

Choosing the right cruise should be determined by what you envision it to be.
Do you want tropical destinations or scenic river cruises? Maybe an exciting cruise aboard a sailboat, where you can actually help sail!
Do you prefer a mainly quite, older crowd with sophisticated entertainment or a "fun" ship with lots of "active" entertainment.
There is the right cruise for everyone... 1st decide what you want it to be :)
There are many good websites to learn about cruises, such as cruisecritic.com
Hope this helped :) |

I've been on the QM2 and Queen Mary both fantastic. Lots to do and absolutely gorgeous food - so much of it! You can literally eat all day and night. I'd say the Queen Mary is more for couples and families and is a very new ship so everything is bang up to date, it even has it's own nightclub (and champagne bar!). The QM2 tends to be mainly over 60's. Both have cinemas, gyms, spas, swimming pools, a library, casino etc The service is impeccable. Go onto the cunard website to check it out. But a word of warning it's very expensive. However if you want to honeymoon on a ship then make sure its a good one. You don't want to be stuck on some booze cruise. |

Holland America is a wonderful cruise line. The most memorable cruise we ever took was to Scandinavia and Russia. Fabulous. |

If you are wanting a romantic cruise you might look towards Royal Caribbean, Princess or maybe Norwegian Cruise Lines for their added touches. If you are looking for a good time, party-hardy type honeymoon you might look towards Carnival for their more party touches. It really depends on what you are wanting or would like to expect on the cruise.
As far as places, the Eastern Caribbean is very romantic with the white sand beaches and warm waters (celebs don't go down there to like St. Barts for nothing). The Western Caribbean also has the warm waters and nice beaches too along with the Southern Caribbean (for Southern Caribbean fly down a couple days ahead of time and stay).
Depending on your finances, if you aren't looking to get the cruise at the cheapest rate, go with at least a balcony cabin or upgrade to a suite for that extra "special" touch since it's a special time. |
