Thinking about a cruise in oct. any suggestions?

I would suggest the Mariner of the Seas from Royal Caribbean. It's got a lot of great activities onboard (ice skating, rock climbing, in-line skating, full court basketball, miniature golf). The spa is wonderful as well. Not only that, the itineraries to either the Western or Eastern Caribbean would be wonderful for your honeymoon.

I've sailed on this ship with my husband (who has a fear of cruising), and it was awesome!!! We had a category F stateroom (an ocean view stateroom with round window). It was spacious enough for the two of us. Since it was our wedding anniversary, I had the room decorated and he loved it. I'm sure you and your new hubby will love it too!!

The ship leaves every Sunday from Port Canaveral. So that should fit into your wedding plans nicely ;>

My family and I cruise every year and we will be leaving in six days on this years cruise. We prefer Royal Caribbean,we don't drink and don't have a problem with other people who drink but we aren't on vacation for a Spring Break free for all and Royal Caribbean offers a more pleasurable experience for the entire family,more romantic for just a couple without flocks of small children running around with no supervision(a HUGE pet peeve of mine is parents who take there children on a cruise and expect other parents to watch them while the enjoy themselves without worrying about there own children). Also the rock wall is amazing !!!! The view from up there is breath taking.There are lots of great activities that you may not expect on a cruise ship,our families personal favorite are the art auctions that take place every day,enjoyable and if you choose to buy, a great investment in your future,the prices are well below the value and they ship it to you when you get home.We have purchased art onboard and it was worth twice what we payed for it.My family is not into the group shore excursions so we go on our own and have found out that the cruise line gets two-thirds of the money from the person offering the excursion so you can go it alone at your own pace and save a bundle on your excursions so you can do more or go home with money in you your pocket.One last hint,Royal Caribbean is the only cruise line that doesn't charge your sea pass card a mandatory tipping fee for all the cabin stuarts,waiters and so on.If you eat in the formal dining room you should tip the waiter but if you eat elsewhere you shouldn't have to tip them,also is someone does an especially good job they should be tipped more than someone who is only doing what he/she has to do.

Definately Royal carribean or Princess. Ive been on 5 different cruises and i perfered those 2. I would do Saint thomas, St. Martin, Curaco and aruba. Those seem to be the best destinations for couples.

the disney cruise line leaves from there so i hear that is good but a carnival one would be good also and it would be cheaper than royal carribean and the disney one. i have been on two carnival cruisies and i would recamend it.

I suggest a CAribbean cruise and I suggest the Western Caribbean vs Eastern. Eastern cruises typically go to two islands in the 7 days. The Western ones go to 3 or 4 islands. Port Canaveral is going to limit you pretty much to Disney, Carnival and Royal Caribbean. Disney has good ships, but its also full of kids and not the environment you may want on a honeymoon even though there are generally audlts only areas on the ship. Carnival is OK if you don't mind being in a crowd with young folks, 20 to 35 age group and first time cruisers who want to party, party, party. I highhly recommend Royal Caribbean. It has great ships, better service and food and a great atmosphere for all ages.

Carnaval and princess cruises are pretty nice. As far as places to go the south pacific is nice I've never been there but I think you'd both enjoy it.

Go to Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean like St. Thomas, Aruba, Domenica, etc. it's the BEST!

For honeymooners, I would urge against Disney or Carnival. They are loaded with families and Carnival is the cheapest, and can attract that type of crowd. I recommend Royal Caribbean or Celebrity. Both are kind mid-level price wise, but the amenities are worth it by far. Better food, better cabins, better people, even better announcements from the Captain.

Consider a Eastern Carribean cruise. You usually stop at an Island a day, travelling at night, and the ports are all pretty nice. RC and Celebrity both have cruises leaving from Puerto Rico (I know, not FLA, blah), but they are worth the trip out there. You could even overnight at the Hilton in PR for a nice little one night tropical getaway. Enjoy and have a fabulous honeymoon!

I have never been on a cruise before but I would definitely suggest not choosing royal caribean cruise lines. I have seen shows about rapes, disappearances and murders that have happened on that cruise line on the montell williams show. I have also read stuff on the internet about this. (I have included some links below for you.) I've always wanted to go on a cruise too. Maybe Carnival cruise lines would be a great choice. I hope this helps! CCL Glory, RCCL Mariner and Disney magic are the only ships that leave from Canaveral during oct. on 7 day cruises. There are a few 5 day cruises that leave from that port. Both the Glory and the Mariner are alternating between eastern and western carrib routes. Both ships are about the same age and are both considered 'mega' ships, meaning they are extrememly large. The food and service levels should be of the same quality on both ships. The RCCL ship should have a few things like a rock climbing wall that the carnival ship doesn't have. The ccl ships usually have larger staterooms. During Oct, there will not be as many children onboard. Both ships will probably have alot of couples and some retirees onboard. RCCL is probably 1/2 step more upscale and refined. CCL is a bit more of festive atmosphere. the 20 something crowd seems to go a bit more for the CCL ships, however 7 night cruises are usually a bit more sedate than the 3-4 day 'booze cruises' As far as the destination. The western carrib is more active than the eastern. The eastern is good for shopping and laying out on the beach. The western is good for diving, seeing mayan ruins and jungle stuff although at some western ports, you can just chill on the beach all day. As far as the crap on montel, most of the accidents / crimes etc on ships usually involve young people and alcohol. Use a bit of common sense and don't drink more than you can handle and you should both be fine. Bottom line, you should be able to have a good time on any cruise, just compare the 2 ships and the 2 routes and figure out what types of activities you would enjoy and have fun.

My in-laws took a Carnival cruise to various Mexican ports and loved it. Friends of mine have also recommended Disney cruises (although I don't know for a honeymoon) and Royal Carribean cruises.

I would caution, though, that October is still hurricane season. My sister-in-law took her honeymoon cruise in October, and they had to spend a couple of seasick nights in their cabin as no one was allowed to roam around the ship.

My fiance and I are also getting married in October. We have already booked our cruise. We are leaving through Fort Lauderdale on Princess Sun. A few peeople warned us about going at that time because it is still hurricane season, but others have had terrific weather. One word of advice......buy the travel insurance, it is worth it just in case something does happen. It is inexpensive and could save you thousands of dollars in the long run.
