If I booked a cruise with a travel agent, Would I have to put the same amount down for the deposit that I would have to put down if I booked it through the cruise company?
The deposit is usually exactly the same as the cruise line unless you can find a travel agent who is running a promotion on low deposits.

Yes, and sometimes cheaper. I would recommend to contact http://www.vacationsnbeyond.com

Yes. With a travel agent you will get better service because your point of contact will always be the same. Make sure you book through a travel agent who has cruise experience.
Tom Cruise
yes,but you can usually get better deals with a travel agent because they have blocked cruise space and can also get you last minute deals, and unlike the commercial travel site the travel agent will give you personal service at no charge to you.and they can customize you cruise and get you what you ask for as far as excursions and special needs for your health etc.

You will save using a TA.
95% off all cruises are booked via a travel agent.
Carnival & RCCL are supporting agents as they cut their own staff.
Sometimes during a special the cruise lines will lower the deposit required.
Time travler
Yes, the only time you get to put down a cheaper down payment is if you do it while you are on a cruise itself. princess lets you put down $100 per person for your next cruise while you are on the ship. You don't even have to pick a particular cruise if you don't want to. We often do this as it is the best deal around. Of course Princess likes it because it pretty much guarantee's that you will sail with them again. By the way, when you use a travel agent, it is the same price for the cruise if you use them, book on line through the cruise company, or use a web site to do it. Of course you can get deals, but the commission for the travel agent comes from the cruise company itself. You never see it.
