I just came back from my first cruise (Norwegian to the eastern Caribbean - it was great) and I still feel like I'm on the ship. The floor is rolling beneath my feet and I feel kind of stoned. When will I get back to normal? |

Just give it a couple of days. I felt like I was rocking in my own bed at night when I came home. The fluid in your inner ear will settle down. |

LOL. Give it another few days. It is a very common thing. It took me about 3 days but took my wife about 5 to completely stop. |

It does take some people a few days to get their land legs back...even though you aren't on the ship anymore, try taking another Dramamine; it will still help;) |

Usually in 3 to 5 days, maybe a week. I always found it was the worst when I closed my eyes while washing my hair in the shower (when I tipped my head back) and lying in bed. That and walking around the house at night in the dark. In fact, I thought the feeling of rocking on land afterward was worse than the actual rocking of the ship. |

Hi there, it actually took me about one week. I was dizzy and felt like I was rocking. I didn't mind it at night on the ship, but once back home to normal stuff, it was not so fun. I took motion sickness pills on the cruise, maybe I should have done so on land as well. It will pass soon :) |

It took me 2 weeks.
I continued to take the meclizine provided on the ship. You can also find it at your local pharmacy.
Paul in San Diego is right about the rocking feeling on land was worse than on ship.
I nearly fell in the shower a few times and would literally bounce wall to wall down the hallway in my house, bumped into corners, etc...
When walking, hold out a hand along a wall or corner to steady yourself. Continue taking anti-vert meds while feeling this way. |
