For a family of five, it would be much easier to call rather than book online. You can either book two rooms, one for two people and one for three people or you can book a family room, which are generally not listed on the websites. I am a travel agent and would love to help you. You can book a cruise up to 48 hours before the ship sails. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance. My e-mail is sweetescapes_travel@yahoo.com Unfortunately, the Miracle is sold out for August 13th for any type of room. However, the Miracle does not accommodate 5 people in one room. For example to cruise on Carnival's Miracle on August 29th with a triple room (oceanview only available) would be 3346.41 and the double room would be 2790.94 for a total of 6137.35. You could save $300 by booking the double in an inside room instead of oceanview. Let me know if you need any help.

It is too late to book a cruise for Saturday. You see since 911, the cruise ships must have a passenger list about a week before the cruise. If you want carnival, then I would call them asap just in case it is not too late. I do know for a fact that you can not just show up on the pier on the day of a cruise and hope to get on. For other cruise ideas that are within the next 90 days, go to Vacations to go. Click on the 90 day ticker and see what you come up with. Just one note, most people book a cruise 6 months to a year in advance.

The problem here is the 5 people. I looked and cannot find any cabins for 5 on the Carnival cruise leaving NY saturday....you might consider two staterooms, one with 2 and one with 3. I am also showing nothing but Insides available.
And despite the constant barrage of advertising, VacationsToGo is worthless here. They don't have anything listed on their ticker less than 14 days out.
THOSE WHO TELL YOU IT IS TOO LATE ARE JUST WRONG. THE CRUISE LINES MUST SUBMIT A PASSENGER MANIFEST TO THE COAST GUARD 72 HOURS PRIOR TO SAILING - SO THAT IS THE PRACTICAL DEADLINE.
NOT SURE WHY YOU WOULD TELL SOMEBODY SOMETHING CANT BE DONE, THEN TELL THEM TO CHECK IN CASE IT CAN BE DONE. EITHER IT CAN OR IT CAN'T, AND IF IT CAN'T THEN ONE MORE PHONE CALL WON'T CHANGE IT, AND IF IT CAN, THEN WHY SAY IT CANT?
I think I would take that into consideration when deciding whether to use the website they are here hyping....but that's just me...

Try calling CCL. For a Sat cruise, you will have to book it by Wens. Usually they have their room assignments made out a few months in advance which may be the reason why you can't book a specific room.

Yes I did it before but you really want to get on it ASAP! There is a great website that I have used in the past. It is
http://www.vacationstogo.com/index.cfm You just need to click on Find a Bargain and put New York in as your port. You can also just check the 90 day ticker to see if there are any last minute cruises departing from New york. Good Luck. I was able to get a great deal out of Hong Kong. Give them a call, they are very helpful but they will try and get you booked on the cruise right away since you are very limited in the time available.
