I always book my air seperately. Its not only cheaper but you get to pick the airline, times, layovers etc. I always start my research at vacationstogo.com. You can do a custom search by length of cruise and price. The air will depend on where you live and how far to the nearest large airport. You can also go to cruiseaddicts.com for great suggestions on anything to do with cruising. You're doing the booking boogie... congrats.

Remember...most of the on-line quotes for cabins do not include the port fees and taxes. Be sure to ask the travel agent up front about these fees. They can run from $75-100 per person.

If your dates are flexible, then you can probably get a good deal. Don't be enticed by August and September dates...they are cheap for a reason...hurricane season and the rainy season in Mexico.

Carnival Spirt from LA for Hawaii. Europe is expensive, and long. And Bahamians are short and cheap. I say go on a Caribean. If you want something out of the norm. Do a southern Caribbean, or Belize cruise. Also leaving form NY is good. 9 night bermuda, and eastern caribbean, from Cape Liberty, NJ, on the Explorer of the Seas, or 8 night Eastern Caribbean, on Carnival Miracle. Your requests are kind of difficult. Check out AAA travel. Great deals. Have fun.

Go on to CarnivalCruise.com....and you will be able to pick the cruises.you want.. ..., ...they will also include the airfare..... the longer your cruise ... the more expensive it is.... so pick a 4-5 day cruise..... they are about $300.00-$400PerPerson. You will also be able to look for different ships ...and what island they go to .

I love doing that..... I feel like a travel agent. ... LOL

You can probably find a cruise to the Caribbean and hit your price point, however not for more than 7 days, especially if you need to include airfare in that price.

If you are willing to do a shorter trip (3, 4, or 5 days) you'll have a better chance, however airfare is your biggest variable and it's hard to give any suggestions without knowing where you are located.

Carnival is a good option, but there are some other lines that may be worth a look too. Princess has a fantastic deal to Alaska that leaves in a few weeks, and Holland America did as well (may be sold out).

Europe and Hawai'i are more expensive, airfare alone may run you close to $1,000.

Call a travel agent that specializes in cruises, they'll look at all of the options and see what they can do for you. It's a whole lot easier than calling the individual lines yourself. I recommend Cruise Planners at 888-286-9827 (www.mycruiseplanner.net). They have the same deals as the cruise lines and the big online sites, but they don't charge any service fees. Better yet, you'll be dealing with a live person the entire time who can help you with everything you need.
