The first response is right. Carnival Fascination is the only ship in Jacksonville, so you're choice is pretty much made. There are definitely more and BETTER options if you are open to sailing out of other ports in Florida.

Also, I can tell you from experience that balcony cabins are definitely a great value if it makes sense financially. Notice how the response from the one above says "that most people never use"... That makes it seem as if he/she has never stayed in a balcony cabin themselves.

Believe me, if you can afford it, balcony cabins are definitely worth the money.

Well, your best pricing out of Jacksonville is Jacksonville or Port Canaveral (about 1 1/2 hours away) Depending on when you want to go, just email me the dates and I will find a cruise what works within your budget

I don't know if they leave from jacksonville

I am not sure but I don't think the newer ships leave out of that port. I know my mom went on one from there and they have to go under a bridge to get out so the newer bigger ships won't dock there. I don't know that for sure but guessing. I know hers was an older ship. Now what I suggest you do is try and come to Ft. Lauderdale or Miami and leave from here. You will find some fabulous deals and newer ships and you can definitely do it on your budget. Prices are low right now and ships are offering deals. Believe me the 5 hours you spend in the car you will get a fantastic ship and great deals. I always get an inside room or sometimes a window but really your not in the room too much so don't think your going to miss out on having the inside room.

try royal caribbean or norwegian/princess. a tip also...go for a inside stateroom or a ocean view stateroom, it will save you alot of money then those pricey balconies they most ppl barely ever use. im assuming that you wont need airfare? you might want to try a 4-6 day cruise to start. will probably be between 299-599$$ each depending on when you go and what cruise line.
