If you have never been on a cruise before then I would take a short cruise, say 3-5 days long. Travel to the Bahamas or Bermuda and see how you like it.

I have only read of one person who didn't like cruising and that was because he expected to be waited on hand and foot and felt that the cruise line fell far short of his personal expectations. In short, he liked things perfect (even said so in his blog).

Research the different cruise lines to see what they offer and when you have decided on a cruise line check out the ship. The deck plan, the restaurants, the onboard activities, etc.

We personally prefer NCL because of the freestyle cruising. We don't have to eat at 6:30 or 8:30 p.m. My stomach has never been on a schedule and it is great to be able to eat when you are hungry and not when it is tiime for you to eat.

Good luck and have fun!

You would love a cruise!
You should go for 7 days. If less, you would want to stay longer. =)
I've been on 4 and I am going on my 5th this summer 2009.
I highly recommend the Carnival Cruise. So many different choices of activities that you and your boyfriend will enjoy.

HOPE YOU GO!

You definitly will like it. Cruises are very fun and fantastic. You should maybe go for 3-5 days for your first time but it's up to you!:)

I think the best cruise line is Royal Caribbean. The newest ships are nice. The ships are called Freedom of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas. I suggest you do a 7 day to experience all the ship has to offer. This ship has a Rock Climbing Wall, Ice Skating Rink, you can surf on this thing called the flow rider, there is a whole lot of dining choices, flat screen tv's in all the room. The ship is awesome. They go to either Eastern or Western Caribbean. Below is a few links with pictures and info about the ships. Both Liberty and Freedom have the same stuff on it. Just has different names. And I'm a travel agent so if u have any questions or need help planning your trip email me at djd832001@yahoo.com

YOU WILL LOVE IT !
Worst part is getting on and off. Now we try to get to the terminal approx 1/2 way through boarding. Boarding starts 12 noon and departs 5 pm, try and get to terminal at approx 3:30- 4 pm. The lines will be minimal.
Carry on with you a change of clothes, documents and meds etc. Your luggage may not get to your room until after dinner.
When disembarking try to have flight home around noon or 1 pm. This way you get up late, eat late, go through customs late and then have your choice of cabs to the airport.
I HATE lineups, last couple of cruises we did as I suggested and everything was great.

five to seven days. My family and I go on seven day ones since I've been a kid and they are by far my favorite type of travel. It's the easiest way to meet new people and everyone is happy on boats, there's no traffic! If either of you get sea sick easily, try a cruise on the Caribbean, they're less rocky then places like the Mediterranean or middle east. I would say just go the seven night one, you'll wish you had.
