We`re looking at a 10 day cruise on Norwegian Cruise Line. We have a 7 year old.?

Is this a good line. Activities for the children. Activities for the adults. Good food. Is it a worth while trip. Has anyone been on this cruise line before? We would really like some insight.

Please read the entire message... it's worth it!

A couple of years ago I took my children on the Norwegian Cruise Line 10-day cruise I believe you are most likely referring to. My children were provided with so many activities, I had to make arrangements just for them to want to be around us. The Kids Crew program is divided into age groups and have certified counselors to keep the kids busy. There were many kids on board, considering it wasn't Disney or a similar type of cruise. The food was phenomenal, always available, and plenty of it. The variety of different restaurants and the free style dining program is wonderful. You are not bound to a particular dining room, at a specific time and at a specific table. You choose when and where you want to eat. It was a fantastic and very pleasurable cruise for the entire family. My husband and I were also torn between all the activities for adults as well.

With that said, I am now a little biased. I went to work for NCL after taking that cruise, and am a very happy employee... both with the company and its quality of service. I am a Personal Cruise Consultant and I work with clients on an on-going basis to make their cruise dreams a reality. With me working directly for NCL, I have the best prices available, and will definitely be able to offer you the most expertise in our cruises. If you would like to give me a call, let's see what I can do for you.

I cannot say that NCL is adult-oriented. There are a lot of activities for children and none of the kids or parents have ever complained about the kids club.
The food is very good. The buffet is open all day long; burgers are available any time of the day. There are chicken fingers, mac&cheese, pizza etc in the restaurants.
Anyway, crew will do pretty much everything just to make you happy and satisfied. Of course, it depends where you're going, but no worries crew will take care of you and your 7 year old. =)

it has activites for both and babysitting too. there is good food and atleast 8 restrants. i have been on this line and it was a fun first time experiance. it was really fun and im sure youll have a great time.

Just note that any cruise over 7 nights will have a much older clientele. There probably won't be quite as many children on board.

Try Disney and Carnival

I took my 6 year old on a Norwegian cruise and regretted it. There were hardly any children to play with. They just are not set up for kids. Go with Disney

Norwegian Cruise Line is by and far a nice cruise line. As Owner of a Travel Agency, I get to actually go aboard the ships and see what they have to offer. NCL in my opinion is more a refined, adult-oriented ship. Children are welcome at NCL, but considering that you have a 7 year old, probably a better fit for you are: Disney, certain Carnival cruises(not all), and Holland America.

You didn't state what kind of cruise you're looking for(cruise destination), where your departure city of choice is, or a departure date. Those minor details aside, I know that there are 10 day cruises out there that would be compatible for both of you and your child. Examples--

1- 10 Night Hawaii Cruise(NCL). 2 sailings in September 2006. I can get you on board for as low as $629.00/pp.

2- 10 Night Southern Caribbean(Disney). September 7 sailing; $1,581.00/pp.

3- 11 Night Mexico(Princess). September 26 sailing; can be had starting at $1,099.00/pp

4- 10 night Alaska(Celebrity). 2 September sailings; can get you on board starting at $1,300/pp

5- 10 Night Canada/New England(Holland America). 3 September sailings; starting at $1,579/pp

These are just some of the sailings available. These are based on the information that you provided. Also keep in mind that these are unpublished prices(i.e. not available at the cruise line websites)
