What are good shore excursions with little kids in Grand Cayman and Cozumel?
I'm going on a Disney cruise in a couple weeks. My two 5-year-olds will be with us.
the beaches are a lot of fun. it depends on where you go in grand cayman...the beaches there are beautiful but you walk out into the water and almost immediately it drops off. i am about 5 ft. 3 in. and i got about 5 yards in the water and couldnt touch anymore. it was like that at all 3 beaches i have been to. a good site for shore excursions is www.shoretrips.com
it is a great company and has awesome shore excursions. they are usually more personal and smaller group sizes than the shore excursions offered by the cruise line. also you can see comments from other people about what they thought about each shore excursion.
have fun!
shhhhhhhhhhhimhiding
I know that carnival offers a Pirate ship encounter which was awesome for the kids. Cozumel might be tougher but perhaps Disney has excursions that are geared more towards the kids. Have fun
TINKERTOY ..... the 1 & only
Both of those port stops are great beach stops. So go to the beach. In Grand Cayman you can get a taxi right at the pier (no need to book a ship's tour) to go to the &-Mile beach. Its $4.00 per person each way. Its a very short ride to the beach and there are plenty of services at the beaches and taxis to take you back to the ship.

There is not a lot to do on Cozumel other than beach stuff. I don't think you would want to take 5 year olds on a jungle safari or even to see Mayan ruins. The other things to do are shopping and beaches. So I suggest just catch a taxi to a beach in Cozumel. But here's a web site with some more ideas: http://www.cozumel.net/

IN GRAND CAYMAN YOU CNA GET A TAXI AND HAVE HIM TAKE YOU AROUND THE ISLAND THAT IS WHAT WE DID WITH OUR KIDS. HE TOOK US TO SEE THE STINGRAYS TOOK US THE THE TURTLE FARM AND EVEN TO HELL WHICH THE KIDS ENJOYED A LOT THEN HE TOOK US TO THE BEACH FOR ABOUT TWO HOURS
THE WHOLE DAY WAS ABOUT 60 PLUS TIP WHICH WE FELT HE DESERVED IT WAS CHEAPER THAN BOOKING IT WITH THE SHIP
IN COZUMEL OTHER THAN THE RUINS WHICH YOUR KIDS WILL TO UNDERSTAND THE MEANING AT THEIR AGE THERE REALLY HIS NOT MUCH TO DO THAN BEACHES IF YOU ARE DARING RENTA JEEP AND TAKE THEM ON A RIDE AROUND TOWN YOU WOULDNT GET LOST IF YOU FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS OF THE RENTAL COMPANY

In Grand Cayman: swim with the stingrays, either with Captain Marvin or Nativeway. [No need to do ship's tour; just be sure you get back to the dock on time for the boat back to the ship.]
In Coz: take a cab to Chankanaab Park; very easy to do and there will be cabs waiting to take you back to the ship. [Check out their website.] Paradise Beach is another option, but with kids, I'd do Chank. Again, no need to do a ship's tour - just get back on time.
For more ideas and feedback, go to CruiseCritic.com, click on "Boards", then "Ports of Call".

Check out Paradise beach in Coz. Free except for the cab ride and the fun pass if you want to use the toys.
Chank is touristy and the chairs at are so bad it will take 2 or 3 people to peel you out of them.

Here are some of the things we have done for our cruises with children.
Grand Caymens
Some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving can be found here.Nativeway tours offers great options for Stingray City with additions to other snorkeling spots for around 3 hours.
There is also a park with habitat for blue iguanas http://www.botanic-park.ky/
and a turtle farm and beach http://www.boatswainsbeach.ky/
Here is a link that shows briefly what you can do on the island. http://www.caymanislands.ky/activities/

Chankanaab Park. The park has a replica of a Mayan village to explore as well as offering of helmut diving and swimming with dophins.
