we are going on a 4 night 5 day mexican riviera on carnival cruise lines. what would be some items i should bring. and also, my little bro is complaining abou cruise length, we were goin on a 7 nighter, but it ended up not fitting in the budget, i know i kinda feel the same but, i mean, IM GOING ON A CRUISE!!! how can i get him to stop whining i know it makes my mom feel bad. |

The most important thing is to make sure your Mum have got lots of money to pay off the credit card bill a month later!
By the time she has paid the compulsory gratuities and all those (erxpensive) drinks you forgot about.....and a trip round the tourist trap shops she will wonder what has hit her! |

Pack some flipflops or other shoes that can get wet, because the decks around the pool can get very slippery and/or hot. Also, a tote bag is handy for sunscreen, sunglasses, book, ID/key, daily program, etc. And tell your brother to STOP WHINING! Tell him it makes Mom feel bad, and that's mean to do to her. She could have decided that everybody should just stay home, but instead is taking him on a trip, so he needs to suck it up and be polite. Sheesh! |

I always bring a nite light, plug it in the bathroom and keep the door creaked open a little. The cabins are pretty dark at night. I also bring a high- lighter marker to highlight the activities I don't want to miss. You will get a "daily" list delivered to your cabin each night, showing what activities are going on for the next day. Check out www.cruisemates.com and cruisecritic.com. These two cruise forums has tons of info and you can ask questions also. They also have reviews of ships, written by past passengers. Don't worry about your little brother, he will have a blast. They also have programs for the younger ones to attend.

Take casual clothing but also a couple of nicer things for the special dinners if you plan to attend.
