I have been on many cruises and here's what I recommend. I suggest that you go on a cruise on the new Royal Caribbean ships; Freedom of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas. Below is a link for the Freedom sailings. You can see looking at this link that there are many dates with different prices. So select a date that has a price that is best for you. Also consider going between October 30 and June 1 so that you will be outside of the hurricane season. Here's the link:

The Liberty of the Seas is an identical ship to the Freedom and also does Caribbean itineraries.
We sailed on the Freedom last November and it has great food, service and amenities. It has programs for kids and a special area on ship called the H2O Zone that is like a water park just for kids with water cannons, a mini-lazy river, and other water stuff. The ship has an ice skating rink, and if you have teen agers, a place to water surf right on ship. This ship stops at one of the very best private islands that I have ever been to. Its huge and has a free tram to take you around to all of the beaches. it has a wealth of water sports too.
Yes you can book adjoining rooms with an inside doorway so that you don't have to go outside to get to the next cabin. Or, you can book a suite which will sleep several people. General cabins will hold 3 or 4 persons max. All cabins on any cruise line must have at least one registered guest who is 21 years of age (25 on Carnival) so when you book make sure that you meet this requirement even though actually sleeping may be different. |

Disney Cruise it is great for the kids beacause kids usally like disney caricters and would love the rooms and the adults can go to the spa or stay in the Jacuzzi |

Happy 2008!

Disney cruises seem to be better suited for families with children under 10.
Any families with children over 10 will be annoyed by the whining children and crying babies on Disney.
I would highly recommend Carnival for families with children over 10. Carnival has many activities and separates children into 4 age groups (I think).
The shore excursions are also great for children. |

Carnival. The Carnival Glory out of Port Canaveral does a seven day Eastern, and a seven day Western Caribbean. It is an awesome ship with lots to do. If you book early enough. you can get the trip for under $500 per person. The cheapest times are Sept, and early Dec. I am booked on this ship for Sept, and because I booked almost a year early, and with a past guest promo, I got in for under $400 and under $1500 for for people. |

Carnival seems to have lots of activities for smaller kids. You will need to ask about adjoining rooms as some are available but depends on the ship. Some ships don't have any adjoining rooms. You can put 2-3 small children in a room with you.
Have Fun.... |

If pricing is a concern, don't go to Disney. Disney is very expensive. Price wise Carnival is your best bet. Royal Caribbean and Norwegian are also family friendly lines.
The best time to travel is April and May, except during spring break. This is prior to the summer season when school is out and prices go up. It is also prior to hurricane season.
All the cruise lines have connecting cabins. The cabins that connect are marked on the deck plans. A good travel agent will also be able to get you connecting cabins. Royal Caribbean also has many "family" cabins that have a second sleeping area for the kids. Some even have more than one bathroom.
Most standard cabins hold two, three or four. |

OK Carnival is great for everyone we have traveled with our 2 sons and there is plenty for them to do with camp carnival and the teen clubs. the Fantasy class does not offer adjoining rooms but the larger ships do. they also have room with 2 upper berths (this is what we did) Carnival is also the cheapest if you go between Sept and Dec. and go through them directly we do and we even pick out our own room too (out of what are available) the web site had deck plans of each ship and even makes the room that are joining and the ones with upper berths. |

Carnival or Disney would be good, I'm sure, but so is Royal Carribbean. We met a really nice couple with 2 kids on our cruise, (they were probably younger elementary school aged) and we never saw the kids because they always had activities, etc. One night, we had a nice dinner with them at the casual dining room because their kids had some pizza party to go to. I don't know about cabins or rates, but You can check it on online at www.royalcaribbean.com. |
