All cruise lines are safe. there's really not a "safer" cruise line. All of them are extremely safe and prepared for emergencies and such. they all are required to hold a mustar drill without 24 hours of sailing so that the passengers know exactly what to do in the rare case of an emergency. The crew are very well trained to handle any emergency, and as well as the mustar drill for every cruise, they have a monthy drill for extreme emergencies. The Crew is always very prepared, and I really don't think that any one cruise line is the safest. I hope this helped and if you have any further questions feel free to send me a message! =) |

They are all safe. There is really no difference when it comes to the main line companies (Carnival, Royal, Princess, NCL, etc...) |

ANY major cruise line, especially those leaving from a U.S. port, should be more than fine -- they're not only regulated by international safety laws, they're regularly inspected by the U.S. Coast Guard.
There's a (somewhat dry) article here about the ways in which the government oversees cruise ship safety:
http://www.cruisesavvy.com/savvyguide/introduction_to_cruises/cruise_faq/does_the_government_oversee_safety
The only cruises I'd worry about might be small Greek lines, that are frankly more like ferry boats, and antique paddleboats -- and even I think they're about as safe as taking a drive.
Sounds like this is your first cruise -- you might find this online guide to cruises helpful: http://www.cruisesavvy.com/savvyguide
Happy cruising! |

They are all safe. You know they are out to make lots of money and if they were not safe, they would not be in business long. My favorite is Princess though. |

I would have to say Celebrity. I always heard great things about them and I finally took them this past march. I went on a two week cruise with them and they were wicked safe very clean and nice and friendly. |

Disney cruise lines! |

they are all pretty much safe, but some cruise lines refurbish their ships more then other cruise lines do, and that is what you should research. After researching for mine and my children's cruise, i would have to say that Disney and Carnival have the newest ships. the newer they are, the less likely to have mechanical problems. |
