What cruise lines have an all inclusive plan? |
By all inclusive, I mean drinks as well (alcoholic). Maybe with a meal plan as well but mostly the drinks. I like the Royal Caribbean but I don't think they have one unless anyone knows of anything different. Thanks! Additional Details Can you bring your own alcohol on the boat? or is there a place on the boat that you can buy bottles of alcohol? |

Actually if you find the right travel group and book as part of their group, Carnival does have a drink card that covers alcohol (yes, it's true... I've been part of a group, and I've seen others). The hard part is finding a travel agent that has this kind of group booking. It comes out to be about an extra $250-$300 per person for a 7 night cruise.
The group doesn't care if you book as part of them because they want/need the numbers. You don't have to hang out with them at all if you don't want to, just have to book through them. I've found them at random times by searching yahoo for something like, "cruise" & "open bar". My biggest tip is once you find these groups save them. They are not easy to come across. |

There are no major cruise lines that include drinks (sodas/alcohol) in their rate, unless it is a rare "deal" you get when you buy your room. However, all ships include food, basic entertainment, and use of the room/common areas/basics (towels, chairs, etc).
For sodas, almost all lines offer a "soda card", which is unlimited sodas for 5-10$ a day. Some also offer a special cup that you can use to get 1-2$ off alcoholic drinks. Lastly, lots of lines are giving away ship-board-credit these days, which can be used to purchase alcohol/sodas/etc.
Edit: You cannot bring alcohol on-board. And, if you purchase alcohol (other than wine at dinner) either on the boat or in port, you cannot consume it while on board. Alcohol is where the ships make their most money, so they don't want to be cheated out of their money. |

I think you most always have to pay for your alcoholic drinks separately. Just like a mini-bar in a hotel, you can pay for them at th end. Meals are included. My sister-in-law took a Princess cruise to Alaska and loved it! |

Pullmantur Cruises offers free wine with lunch and Dinner as well as free sodas and selected alkohol at the bars.
It's like the all-inclusive deal you get when in a resort. |

No cruise line would ever consider unlimited free drinks. The ship would be full of drunks. Meals are always included except for a reservation fee at some optional specialty restaurants. Sodas are about $2 each and you can buy a soda card for about $4 a day for unlimited fountain sodas on most ships. There is a charge for specialty coffees, espresso, etc.
Hard liquor will be held until the end of the cruise if you buy it onboard or in a port. Wine is ok but there will be a corkage fee if you do not order it in the dining room.
Note that there are free watered down drinks at the captains welcome party and the return guest party.

Disney Cruise Line DOES include all non-alcoholic drinks (as long as it is not room service). They have a drink station that is self-serve and free, open 24 hours a day, and all non-alcoholic drinks served at breakfast, lunch, and dinner are free as well. I do believe they are one of the few (if the only) cruise line that offers unlimited free drinks. You can buy alcohol at several different places on the ship, including ordering bottles by room service. I think this is universal among cruise lines. |

They all have different policies with wine. None allow you to bring on hard liquor or beer. However Celebrity allows you to bring on 2 bottles of wine per stateroom. They also offer an $80 package that has them deliver a bottle of liquor to your stateroom. I'm sure Princess is roughly the same.
Costa has an additional program you can buy called X1 that allows you soda, bottled water, and wine with dinner.
Royal Caribbean offers an adult Wine and Dine which includes a bottle of wine at dinner each night.
Holland has a truly ugly search page so I wasn't able to find out any info about that.
No one includes the liquor drinks as an all-inclusive cruise--however all-inclusive reports do. (Dreams, Beaches, Sandals). Most of the cruise lines do offer an additional package usually just including wine.
I think all offer an additional fee for soda cards that you can buy and then it's all you can drink.
There are numerous places on board you can buy bottles of alcohol--however they wrap it up for you. You do get your alcohol back the last night. On NCL and Carnival that was early enough in the night that we could drink the night away and lower the number of bottles we were declaring to customs. |

None of the major cruise companies have free alcohol and most all don't have free soda either. Only Crystal cruises offer some wine with meals, but the price you pay for going on a crystal cruise is about double that you would pay on Princess or celebrity or royal caribbean. You can not legally bring any alcohol on board, but Princess allows each person to bring on 1 bottle of wine for special occasions. |

Always check into which ship the company considers to be their "flag ship" these ships generally speaking have the most experienced staff members and onboard entertainers. To benefit from complimentary beverage the best that I can recommend is booking a New years cruise of a companies flag ship this way they feel obligated to provide some complimentary beverage.
Otherwise do it the old fashioned way by tipping your bartener heavy and see if you can manage to break even by the end of the cruise.
