depends on where you are going
you will also need a picture ID
but you may also need a passport for some cruises and if they don't changes the date again a passport may be needed for all cruises by July 2008 |

As of the first of this year you will need a passport. This is really to get back into the United States. Most of the island you visit will require nothing more than a driver's license (or some other picture ID) to enter the country. |

Last I heard they pushed back the dates of having passports until June or somewhere mid summer. So as of now, I would definitely recommend having a passport but I know the hassle of trying to get one in time before a cruise and then the cost and its just hectic. I would say that you need your real birth certificate with the raised government seal, and then a photo ID, like a drivers license, and then proof of marriage becuase of your name change, if your married, like your marriage license and you should be good to go. |

Starting in 2008, birth certificates no longer will get you on board. You will need to have a passport. |
