wouldn't you like to know

What do you think of the supplemental fuel charge for carnival?

I can't believe that it went from 5 buck a day to 9 dollars a day in the matter of two months. I just came off a cruise late April and we only paid $5 a day. Now it 9. What do you think?

Honestly, I would prefer that they just raise the price of the cruise than throw in another fee to add on. It's not just Carnival though, it's all of the cruise lines and $9 is in line with all the others as well.

Have you been paying attention to the price of fuel? The cruise lines need to cover their expenses. I think they'd be better off if they just included the surcharge in their fares - no one would notice it.

Well do the math. It's still cheaper than driving to a vacation spot and back at today's fuel prices. At least when you go on a cruise not just carnival you know what it cost because it's all up front paid. You don;t pay it the ship breaks down, the cruiseline does. Your food is paid for and it's up to you if you want to pay addidtional money to drink. You sleep, eat and swim all you want for one price. This is cheap if you have 3 kids. I'm not saying I agree with the fuel charge yes it sucks, but better than driving with 3 kids four hours in a truck.

It sucks, but it's a way of life these days. With the way oil/gas is skyrocketing from week to week and going through the roof, any commercial transportation is going to be looking for ways to cover the fuel costs, whether it be upfront like Carnival or in hidden "surcharges".
I think we just have to get used to it, unfortunately, and cut back on something else if we want to travel. Sad.

Well Carnival is by far my favorite Cruise Line. It isnt their fault really. It is these darn gas prices. Actually all cruise lines have a fuel surcharge about the same price or higher. But, hey, taking a cruise is still cheaper than staying in a hotel, paying for entertainment, paying for food, and driving anywhere. So I will still pay the extra fee although I wish it didnt exist. Carnival is still the best though!

Outrageous. Ridiculous. But I'll still cruise on Carnival. I've been on 7 cruises on 4 different lines (Carnival, Disney, Princess, and RC) and they are my favorite. Princess and RC are nice too.
