Carnival is for a younger crowd and so is Disney and Carnival is famous for the waterslides and amazing kids programs and they have wonderful entertainment some of the best in the industry and their prices are not expensive as with other cruise lines and they go to numerous destinations year round.

Celebrity is owned with Royal Caribbean and the prices are a little pricier but they have smaller ships which has a smaller crew to passenger ratio and nice rooms and nice ships. The food is amazing and the service is wonderful. They go to all different destinations and its amazing. I would highly recommend this cruise line and they dont have the best childrens programs but they have some nice entertainment, food, and onboard activities.

Roayl Caribbean is still a little pricier and the ships rooms are more luxurious then some of the other cruise lines and have more mega ships whih ice skating rinks, bowling alleys, rock climbing walls, and other things like that, and their rooms may be bigger and the price may be more but they are worth it. Alot of people like this cruise line and the extra money is also worth it but Carnival has the biggest sized rooms in the industry and Royal Caribbean has some really nice itineraries, and great food and entertainment. The mega ships have more to do then say the older ships and their is a ton to do.

NCL is not a personal favorite, they offer freestyle cruising which is new to the industry and has 4-8 restaurants to choose from and you can dress as casual as you want and you don't have to go to the main dining room and follow their dress code and you can eat when and where you want and dress however you feel like at that time. The lines are a little more pricey and some say not worth the money and others don't like it as much as say the other cruise lines. So it really depends on if you can find a great deal or not.

As for the other cruise lines Holland America caters to a much older crowd and Princess does as well. I also think they are a little more exspensive and not worth the price. As with any cruise I would be aware of that fact that during certain cruises the ship may cater to more of an older crowd on some itineraries and younger crowds on others, like Alaska may have more of an older crowd as the Caribbean may have a lot more of the younger crowd. Just do your research and have a wonderful vacation. If you have a question further email me.

My aunt goes on 4-5 cruises a year, with Carnival and absolutely loves them, however, if you have children I highly recommend Disney, it totally rocked.

It really depends what you are looking for.

Carnival: The fun ships, a lot of partying, drinking, etc. A much younger crowd onboard. Not always the best service, food, cleanliness, etc. The least expensive line.

Royal Caribbean: A little more expensive than Carnival, in most cases. But the overall cruise is much nicer, food, service, cleanliness, etc. all is a great improvement. I like Royal Caribbeans ships better and also the cruises they offer.

Disney: Some think it is high priced, but I think it is well worth the difference. Great food, fantastic service, very clean, wonderful kids programs, etc.

Princess: A nice line, good prices, not the cheapest, but not the most expensive. Great Alaskan cruises, really great staff, good food, etc.

Celebrity: Wonderful line, a little more expensive, geared more for adults than famlies, good food, service, etc.

Cunard: One of my favorite lines, offer great cruises, fantastic ships. Again, better for adults than kids, but still popular for some families.

This is just the beginning, there are a lot of great lines. It really depends on what you are looking for in the cruise, for example family oriented, budget, etc. Also, where you want to go can make a big difference, for example, Princess has really great Alaskan cruises. Finally, it is also important to look for a newer ship. Freedom of the Seas, for example, from Royal Caribbean is new and a lot nicer, bigger and has a lot more onboard than some of their older ships. But, their ships like Rhapsody are still in good shape and kept up, and are still liked better by some because they are smaller and more manageable.

A travel agent may be a very useful tool for you. That is how I do my bookings and I find it to be the easiest way to go.

I've included a link to a really great site, you can get a lot of info on the different lines, ships, etc.

Hope this helps!

my opinion the best to go with is the carnival cruise. they offer all kinds of fun for everyone.

Royal Caribbean by far, please dont make the Carnival mistake.

I'd say Princess Cruises, my parents went on one and they loved it. And that says a lot considering there was a hurricane going on outside.

Stay away from NCL. The cruise line sucks.

If you like eating dinner with the same people at the same time and the same table every night, there are several cruise lines that will satisfy you. However, if you like to have dinner at whatever time you prefer, in a different restaurant every night with different people (or by yourself, if you prefer), then Norwegian Cruise Line is a good choice. They inaugurated "Freestyle" cruising several years ago, and have built their ships to support the concept - with ten restaurants from which to choose. Other aspects of cruising with Norwegian also are Freestyle, including the disembarkation process (leave the ship when you wish, not when you're told to).

Depends on you. You ask 5 different people you will have five different answers. Everybody has a different agenda. Some want to sit on a deck chair and be waited on. Some want to see and do as much as they can. Think about what you want to accomplish and go with a cruise line that caters to people like you. Find a certified cruise agent to explore your options with.

Also take what you see on Cruise Critic with a grain of salt. I have seen very selfish people post negative reviews on there for the sake of vengeance. For instance I saw a review posted blasting RCCL for putting them in quarantine because they had contracted the noro-virus. They didn't mention all of their medical bills were paid for by the cruise line and the future cruise credit they received for being confined to quarters. Which is the policy of RCCL. The cruise line must report all cases of noro-virus to the CDC and quarantine those exposed. Because the entire ship can be infected in less than 24 hours. It is a matter of public safety. But because these people had their vacation interrupted for 48 hours because they fell ill, everything is RCCL's fault in their opinion. So as I mentioned take everything with a grain of salt. Most people on there want to share their wonderful experiences, but others just want to vent and receive sympathy.
