I don't know about Cozumel, my husband and I just walked around and shopped there. But Grand Cayman has this really cool place called "The Butterfly Farm". It may sound lame, but you will see so many beautiful butterflies there, my husband even liked it! |

Cozumel.. Xcaret, at www.xcaretcancun.com
Grand Cayman.. Georgetown I presume..... Stingray City
Both offered by the cruise line onboard for purchase. I sell them in advance when I sell a cruise to someone as their very popular excursions. www.mikethecruiseguy.com

I have been to both locations while on a Western Caribbean cruise. Depending on what your budget is, Grand Cayman has LOTS of cool things to do. Unfortunately, you may not be able to fit only 1 or 2 of them into your stay while in port.
In Grand Cayman, you can go see the Turtle Farm, which is a huge sanctuary for turles. They later use these turtle's shells for jewelry, furniture, etc. I didn't go and see that! I did go on a combo Stingray City and Snorkeling. Stingray city is a sand bar in the middle of the bay that is surround by stingrays. It is really something to experience! The shopping is awesome in Grand Cayman, as my hubby and I bought matching Movado watches for only $700! They each retail for more here in the USA. I think there is a place called 'Hell' there as well... not sure... but I have heard it is really neat.
Cozumel is beautiful as well, but I have to be honest, it wasn't my favorite port of call. We went to the Tulum ruins, which is on a bluff overlooking the ocean. It was breathtaking! Many folks were shopping, swimming with dolphins, or snorkeling in Cozumel from our ship. Check with your cruise/ resort for a complete listing of what is available to chose from. Book early, as the 'good' ones go quickly!
Hope this helps you some! |

On Grand Cayman - See the Turtle Farm.
On Cozumel - The Tulume Ruins. |

In Cozumel you best go snorkeling or scuba or something on the beach or water. We toured the island when we were there and there is nothing to see. There's not much to see or do on the island, except a little shopping. On Grand Cayman go to the beach, even if you don't go swimming. |

In Cozumel, you can take a tour over to themainland and go to the Mayan ruins. It's a long day, but if it's the only time you'll see them, it's a great idea.
In Grand Cayman, I would avoid the Turtle Farm as I don't think that going to a slaughter house is that fun on a vacation.
Sting Ray city is fabulous. You don't swim, but you should be able to tread water in case you hit a deep patch. You can usually keep your feet on the ground, so it may be an option. |

alot of people do stingray city. It is in the water, however the water is only about 3' deep so you don't have to be a swimmer. Also, sea grape beach is a good place to go if you just want to lay out and get some sun. In coz, there is alot to do. There are alot of beach clubs for hanging out on the beach and eating / drinking. The dune buggy tour is a blast. You drive chopped up VWs which have been converted to dune buggies and go to the back of the island. Alot of people go to chankanaab park which has alot to offer. |

I have been to both ports several times...
In Cozumel you will be tendered in and you can do several things ...
you can go shopping downtown...on the pier there are cabs lined up it cost like 5-8 dollars to go downtown...you have better bargaining here...plus you can eat authentic mexican food right on the beach side...OR...you can take a cab to the park...here you can swim with the dolphins...see ruins'...have a beer and something to eat...it is 10 for the cab ride and 10 to get in the park...totally safe to do this...
Grand Caymen...Stingray city is the best....
Or you can take a let off the pier go about 1/2 walk and lay on the 7mile beach...go shopping...or take a snorkeling tour....Hard Rock Cafe is the nicest one you will see...that is off to the right from the pier across the street...
It WILL rain in Grand Caymen for about 15 minutes... then it will quit.... |

Both have city tours where you get to shop and see the city. No swimming involved at all. I did the city tour for both Cozumel and Grand Cayman and it's a lot of fun to explore both places on your own once the city tour is done. I've never had a better time in my life! |

The Dophin Experience, where you are able to interact with dolphins and actually let one pull you around in the water.
I've heard that Stingray bay is good, too.
This is in Cozumel. |
