What is the best cruise lines for children age 10&14?

So many of the lines offer something for families. What I would recommend doing is going directly to some of the cruise lines websites and then looking into the activities they offer the children, in their age group. See which ones offer the most activities for your children and then also look into the other onboard activities.

I feel that Disney and Royal Caribbean are the best as far as kids programs go. For younger kids, the lines are more strict and you will need to sign the kids in and the same person needs to sign them out, some will even offer you a pager (others will just ask where you plan to be on the ship if they would need to get you. If it were me, I would prefer the lines with a pager) Most cruise lines allow the teens to be a little more free and they can come and go as they please.

Disney is really great for families of all ages. Obviously they are a little more popular with younger children and also Disney fans, but they are really great for everyone. I think Disney has some of the best entertainment onboard (especially shows) They are also fantastic at seperating areas for the different age groups, so the adults still have places they can go on their own. And, they have some of the best kids programs on just about any line. I love Disney cruise and go quite often by myself. My sister also loved the line even when she was a teenager, they had a lot of activities offered to keep even the teens entertained.

Royal Caribbean would be my second choice. They also have really great kids activities and are another very popular line for families. The biggest benefit, in my opinion, to Royal Caribbean is that they offer more onboard activities for everyone, such as rock walls, putt-putt, wave pools, etc. So there is a ton to do for just about everyone. I think that your children (because of their age) would love Freedom of the Seas because of what it all offers, as Tinkertoy said.

A lot of the lines offer really great kids programs, it just depends on what your kids enjoy. I don't know how close your kids are, but they would likely be put in seperate kids programs because of their ages, sometimes they will allow younger kids to go into other kids programs, if their is space. But they don't always allow this and there is a little bit larger age difference, but I just wanted to let you know. As long as you avoid some of the more expensive lines that cater more to adults (I would classify lines like Cunard, Celebrity, etc. into this category) there should be plenty to do onboard.

fFor ages 10 and 14 -- Carnival!

We introduced our daughters to cruising at age 5 and 7 on the Disney cruise. It was a fabulous experience. While the ship and service was exceptional, I was on Disney overload. The Disney cruise is not an adult cruise that accommodates children. It is a children's cruise that accommodates adults.

However, as my daughters have gotten older, they prefer Carnival over Disney and Royal Caribbean.

Carnival is casual enough that the young ones can have a good time. They love the pool and slide plus the great 24 hour pizzeria is a favorite of my 13 year old.

They found Royal Caribbean too stuffy.

Disney Cruise Lines-I personally have not been , but I am saving for a crusie next year and done alot of research on Disney Cruise LInes and they are awesome.

The most logical answer would be Disney because they cater to families with kids. But If the 10 and 14 year old are not fascinated by Disney characters any more then I would suggest Royal Caribbean, Princess or Norwegian. All three of these cruise lines have kids programs. For example, they will have a staff person assigned to keep all teens occupied each day with gams and activities. Some of the ships even have special areas just for the teens. If you go to their web sites they describe the programs for kids of various ages.

My prime recommendation would be Royal Caribbean because they seem to havea the most things for kids. Especially their new ship the Freedom of the Seas (and its sister ship the Liberty of the Seas which is being launched this spring). The Freedom has a pool area just for kids, it has a full sized basketball court, a mini-golf course, an ice skating rink, a rock climbing wall, and a feature exclusive to RC's new ships, the Flow Rider where you can surf on board the back of the ship. Just go to RC.com and click on the ships tab and then click on the Freedom.

I have taken my kids on many different cruise lines and they say their favorite was royal Caribbean. they loved the rock climbing wall and volleyball. they also thought ice skating in the Caribbean in July was cool.

Disney I went when I was about 13 years old and I absolutely loved it! The cruise and a movie theater, showing the latest movies, It had so many things for children to do, but don't get me wrong, there is plenty for adults too, I recommend taking the Disney cruise to the Bahamas, and then to Disney's private island. It was an experience I will never forget have also been on a carnival cruise, and if I have to compare the two, Disney wins, hands down. I hope to some day take my own children on a Disney cruise. The food is great, the entertainment is spectacular!

i would think Disney but they are a bit pricey tho but all cruise lines have a children's program i hear that royal caribbeans program is just super . i don't know my child is 20 now . but do some research and find out where you want to go for how long and what children's programs they have . good luck and enjoy your cruise

I know a lot of people say Disney, but these are usually higher priced, lacking on the adult end, and I don't think you get the regular cruise experience like you do on other lines. Try Royal Carribean (which does travel other places than the Carribean). They cater to both adults and kids wonderfully, have great food and entertainment, and are usually on the cheaper side of things.

If you can afford Disney, that would be your best option, but it's a lot more expesive than the other cruise lines.

Royal Caribbean would be your best bet. They have a great kids program. They kept them really entertained that the non-kid people (like me)barely noticed them on the ship.

The blogbaba is a big fan of Disney. Everything they do is top of the line, and the atmosphere sets the standard in good clean family oriented entertainment.

We took a Princess Cruise to Alaska. We couldn't get our two kids (7 and 11) out of their camp! The shore excursions had many "kid friendly" options, the atmosphere on the ship was friendly and casual, and they had an excellent babysitting service at night when the parents want to get out for a little R&R. They even have a kids night at the camp where the kids go to dinner on their own.

Highly recommend Princess Cruises.

The majority of cruises cater for children, Carnival (camp carnival), royal Caribbean, NCL, Ocean Village, Princess, Costa. All have kids clubs & separate activities for children at all times.
