What is the best deck to be on when taking a cruise? |
taking a cruise, possibly with carnival, what is the best deck to have your room on? My husband and I will probably do interior room(no window)but i saw the picture and it comes with twin beds can we request a king or queen? Do many people get sea sick from the window view? Also when booking the cruise how can you tell whether the food prices are included in the price listed, where would it say on the website I tried looking through details and I couldn't find it. Any help or experiences is greatly appreciated! |

You won't be spending much time in your cabin, so your best bet is to get one where you will be comfortable - not 'one with a view'. If you wanted to look out you would be on deck.
The most comfortable cabins are the ones low down, and near the center of the ship. These will have less motion than others in rough weather. They are also cheaper than the ones they sell to people who do not realise this! |

If you ask they will push the 2 single beds together to make a Queens bed. Most of your food is included. There are some specialty restaurants they do charge extra. Each day there is a daily planner left in your cabin with a list of activities & what foods are being served.
I personally have been on over 20 cruises and always request a interior cabin on deck 11 towards the middle-back. About 4 cabins away from the elevators. No noise or motion. Of course I am lucky if I spend more than 6 hours in a cabin on any given day.
Enjoy your cruise. |

The lower decks can be claustrophobic - I personally don't like the fact that there are watertight doors down there. Half way up would be best and midships. I won't say which number deck because it depends on how many decks the ships has. Depending on the cruise line they can make a queen bed for you. Look on the cruise lines own website as there will be more information there than on a travel agent site. |

Usually the beds convert to a queen. I would say the middle would be your best bet. Not too rocky like the bottom and not too loud like the top. We had a balcony and I didn't get sick one bit. All the food is included in the price, except if you want to go to the specialty restaurant, which you have to pay a cover charge. But all the buffets and dining room meals are included, as well as the lido deck burgers and such and the unlimited ice cream! If you look at F.A.Q it might answer some other questions you may have, or you can always feel free to email me! Also, you can go to cruisecritic.com or cruisesonly.com and you can read reviews of past cruisers... |

Food is always included, but you can also buy speciality foods as well.
If your inside room you might as well be down on deck 2, not 1, deck two quiet and near centre of ship.
After 12 cruises we always get balcony deck 9, and try to be near centre of ship but at least 6-10 suites away from any common areas. |

Whoa! thats a whole lot of questions..I can see that you are a little too confused about your trip. I believe that if you have little and the most adequate info, then you are least confused. You must sit back and enjoy the cruise..But if you really want to know every details about the cruise, which is perfectly rational as you will be spending a lot, you must read cruise reviews, every cruise website has them.. |

First, Don't Book Carnival, The higher the deck the better, on pool deck preferably below pool, near or above Pursers' deck as well. The twins can be pushed together, I suffer from terrible motion sickness but I prefer an outside cabin gives the impression of being larger and you can always close the curtains. True you won't be in the room often but when you are you don't want to get sick it ruins the rest of the evening I know. Meals are included unless you go to the specialty restaurants on the ship, non alcoholic drinks are included as well but not the sodas and water left in your cabin. You'll have a wonderful time and an even better one if you choose another cruise line other than Carnival. |
