What is the best ship to cruise on Royal Caribbean Cruise Line?

I've heard Adventure of the seas is good but too big, and i'm going with my husband on our 'late honeymoon' so we would like a ship thats not totally over crowded or with a lot of kids but also not one for 'old timers'. (we are 21 & 22) I'll take any advice! Thanks!

In my opinion the bigger and newer ships are the best. All the furnishings and rooms will be top notch and they will have extra amenities in new ships since they are always adding things to make them better. Bigger ships also hide people. Its hard to tell you are cruising with thousands of other people because there are so many different lounges, decks, balconies and activites. The only time you might see a line is getting on the ship or getting off on a shore excursion.

Avoiding kids is more about the time of year than anything. Don't go during the summer/winter vacation months or spring break. I've gone on cruises in January and May and I felt like both times were not super crowded.

As for avoiding the older crowd, I know where you are coming from. My husband and I are on our 20s and we don't want to feel out of place on a cruise. Royal Caribbean is for all age groups and there will be plenty of people your age there so don't worry,

Adventure of the Seas is going to be one of the bigger and newer ships. The Freedom class is the barnd newest so you won't be on the biggest type ship, just the step down from it. If you truely are worried about size it might be a little on the big side but I don't see a problem. You can feel the motion less on a bigger ship as well.

Sounds like fun and congrats on the honeymoon!

If you're in your twenties, I'd suggest Carnival. It's fun and tons to do. If you don't want little kids around, then try not booking it during their vacations and right after school lets out for the summer. As for age groups...you'll find all ages on all ships, but Carnival has the most twenty somethings, from all the ships I've been on. They're all clean and beautiful. The food is great. Carnival had more things to do on board too, but in my opinion, I'd set sail out of San Juan so you won't have so many days aboard ship and you go to better islands. If you have a cruise with days at sea, think about the balcony so you'll feel like you own the ship, otherwise, book a cabin at the cheapest rate with a window. Two weeks before you set sail, call the ship's company up and ask if there are any free upgrades.

Wish you the best. Check out this site...I usually find some great deals here. iBtraveling.com

I don't know about the others, but Majesty of the Seas is a great ship to be on. I didn't see many kids (Aug '06 cruise) and had a blast.

I have not been on all of RCI's ships either but my favorite is the Enchantment of the Seas. I feel that it is not too big or too small. It has recently been renovated and had an amazing midsection added, that made this ship even more appealing to me. It has a great itinerary with usually about only one day at sea. I am taking my next cruise on her in August and I cannot wait to be back on that ship! I am 22 and i never felt that i was bombarded by old timer's, to tell you the truth I think I only saw a few older couples on board. I think that they do different activities then the ones I chose.

No matter what ship you choose in Royal Caribbean's line, you will have a great time! Bon Voyage and Happy Honeymoon!

I recently (Jan 7-14) took a cruise with RC on the Vision of the Seas to the Mexican Riviera. We had a blast. It consisited of myself(28), my sister(21) and my mom. There were people of all ages, and I dont believe it was overcrowded. But it was also my first time. There always something to do, or you can just relax by one of the pools. Customer service was outstanding!!

wow good for you taking a cruise . the enchantment of the seas is a wonderful ship very clean and the staff top notch in every way i sailed just before it was made bigger its great but it only has 5 day cruises if you want more time you will have to chose another ship we are going on mariner of the seas in oct its a vision class ship so looking forward to it. go to rccl web site and look at all the ships where they are going and from where they are sailing from this will help in deciding what ship fits your needs . but any way all ships are good with royal caribbean hope this is a bit of help and have a great cruise

I cannot speak for all of them, but I went on a Caribbean cruise summer 2006; on the Enchantment of the Seas. It was incredible....very clean, big but not too big, lots to do, and plenty of places to go and be kid free. I would HIGHLY recommend it.
