Here's two option that work for me.
(1) instead of trying to bring on a big bottle, buy several pint sized bottles, soak the labels off and then put them in a zip lock bag (just in case they leak) and pack them with your toiletries or in the center of you luggage wrapped in a "T" shirt or something to cushion them (sometimes I use a gym sock). NEVER PUT LIQUOR IN YOUR CARRY ON. Another thing you can do is buy miniatures, like the ones the have on planes, and pack them throughout your luggage
(2) go to your beverage store, or a luggage store and get some of the plastic flasks and fill them; then pack them as described above.
Works for me!!! |

You can bring a bottle or two of wine in your checked luggage, not your carryon. Hard liquor, well see the other answer about listerene bottles. |

There are 3 schools of thought on this (Actually 4 but the 4th is that you shouldn't try to bring alcohol onboard because you can afford obscene alcohol prices if you can afford a cruise).
1 - Hide it good. This is the school I basically fall into, I say the better hidden the less likely it is that you will get caught. What we have done in the past is transfer vodka and rum into sealed bags like you get with Seal-a-meal or the vacume seal units that you can get at the store. Then we put those in second bags and stuff them inside the clothes. Since the liquid is in bags it is very difficult for them to detect it with the xray machines where as plastic bottles can be clearly seen in xrays. We have done this several times and have never had it detected. We have experimented with having the plstic bags in luggage with bottles of alcohol and have had the bottles removed while they did not find the plastic bags, this is primarily why we use this method. Once we get onboard we cut the bags open and pour their contents into water bottles and use it for the whole trip.
2 - Transfer to other bottles. This has already been suggested a few times. It does work but the cruise line does reserve the option to check your luggage, if they see the bottles that are obviously open they may open them and sniff the contents. If they do they will just take it out and give it back to you at the end of the cruise.
3 - Just pack the bottles. This has worked for other people as well, they just pack the bottles or boxes of alcohol in their luggage and trust to luck. We have heard from lots of people that they have done this with no problem, as far as having full boxes of wine in their luggage. It's the most likely to get caught, but on the same note it does not seem to happen as often as the cruise lines would leave you to believe.
So, using any method of sneeking alcohol onboard may work there is no guarantee. As has been stated by a few people, it is technically against the cruise contract and they could deny you boarding. I have never heard of someone being denied boarding for trying to sneek alcohol onboard, and logically it does not make sense that they would, while the cruise line makes some money from a passenger with their fare the real profit is in all of the extras that they charge once you get onboard, and since they took your secret stash you are more likely to spend even more. |

Put them in plastic soda bottles. I put vodka in club soda bottles, then in a zip lock bag. My husband drinks Brandy, so his go in empty coke bottles.
ALWAYS put them in your checked in luggage - never try to carry it on the ship.
Works every time. |

Its not worth the risk of getting kicked off the ship to do this. My advice, save up your money and buy your liquor on board. You can bring some wine on board but the cruise line will charge you a corking fee. |

I packed a 12 pack of soda in my "checked" luggage, and they stopped my bag, and didn't deliver it to my room until I came down to open it and prove it was not booze. Royal Caribbean, Rhapsody out of Galveston 4/07. 30 bags were down there, so don't say they don't check..... HOWEVER, ship carry ons were barely checked at all. I had two water bottles in my carry on, and they never stopped anyone (the rush to board 2,000 passengers, you know...). I also heard the "strap a few plastic bottles with rope around your waist, and hanging between your knees and under a long skirt" boarding tip- no metal, you know.... Just remember, you need to consider what airlines will do with liquids if you fly to the ports, and then reconfigure for ship's boarding.... |

you are aware if you get caught the ticket contract says that they can kick you off/not let you on the ship with no refund |

Lots of little bottles separately....they'll eventually make one big one. Now if it was another substance I got you covered.... |

Put the bottles in a checked-bag and slip the porter a $20 to make sure the bag gets on the ship. |
