What is the best way to disembark the Carnival Cruise Ship? |
Is it better to self assist or leave the bags out the night before? I've seen pros and cons to both and would like opinions. Thanks! |

Its bettter to carry them off yourself because you get to leave the ship first, while the others have to wait |

It just depends on what you prefer. Leaving the bags out is nice so that you don't have to mess with them. But, you always have the chance that your luggage won't be there when you go to pick it up. Someone may actually take the luggage, or it could be a simple mistake, either way it isn't a good situation.
The biggest disadvantage to carrying your luggage yourself is that you have to take it with you. So if you go to breakfast or something, you have to take all of your luggage with you. Depending on how much luggage you have and how big your party is, this can be a real hassel.
What I do is keep anything with my I have to have or don't want to lose. For example, my laptop, camera and medications always stay with me. My clothes go out the night before. (Just don't forget to keep a change of clothes!)
There really are pros and cons to each, but I prefer to leave it out the night before. It is much less of a hassel. |

I really think it all depends on how much you have to take with you. Remember that you will have to have all of the items that you bought out of the country go through customs. If you have over a certain dollar value of items, you will have to have it checked and pay duty on it (much less than tax). That is usally done early on the morning of debarkation, and if you have sent those items off over night, you are going to run into a hassle.
I always have found it easier, personally, to just self assist. This way, there is no waiting for your stuff, and no worrying that someone is going to make off with it. |

Sans bags. Take the elevator-not the stairs--you'll wait at first, but then straight to the exit. |

Well, it depends on you. If you're not very strong an can't look after your bags, leave them out the night before. Otherwise, take them off on your own. There's always the possibility of them getting misplaced if you leave them out the night before. Also, it depends on your port of arrival. Some ports are more trustworthy than others. |

Well you know the pros and cons, as do I, and I self assist. I'm my own assistant. The pampering is over. |
