As a former Cruise Director, I know for a fact the best way to meet people..is to attend the stuff the ship does.
Go to the shows at night.
Play pool games when the ship has them.
All ships have games or a library....go there for games.
Check the daily itinerary to see whats happening on the ship, and then attend these things.
Lastly, go to the disco's or nightclubs at night. The really fun people hang at the nightclubs at night.

Depending on your cruise, some cruiselines do assigned seating for dinner service. If yours is one of those, you will likely be sitting and eating with a tableful of strangers for the duration of your trip...so that's certainly one way of meeting people.

There are usually singles activities and bar events on the ship, so you can try that as well.

Just enjoy your cruise, and participate in the ships activities....you may find yourself surrounded by new friends!

just be friendly and ask where they're from and talk sweetly and they will for sure tell you if you talk to them nicely

Request to sit at the largest dining table! We hung out with the people we ate with most. Go to all the games and contest on board!

Maybe by getting unspecified dinner seating so you sit with new people.beware though they might get on your nerves so think twice.also Jacuzzis are always full so try those and also group excursions would also be a great way.good luck and have lots of fun.

Erin, it is actually difficult NOT to meet people on a cruise, particularly if you just look around and have a smile on your face. You will see people in the elevators, on the stairs, at breakfast, lunch, dinner, at the events the ship's company has, etc. There will be 1000-2500 people on the ship with you, and they can only go about 900' away. It is a closed environment.

Have a good trip.
Regards,
Dan
