What is the best way to sneak booze onto a cruise?

I don't feel like spending $10 a drink.

put it in your checked bags in soda bottles . they have good sealing tops and they let you bring a small amount of soda. just in case make sure the colors are right . do it all the time but i mix them with soda so i don't have to buy mixer.

You can't

You don't have to "sneak" it on board. Just pack a pint or 2 in your luggege. Most people do it. On Carnival, anyway, you can get lemonaide from the Lido deck restaruant anytime for mixing material.

I just returned from a Celebrity cruise. The documents received beforehand had a large type section regarding bringing alcohol on board. You could bring on 2 bottles of wine. You could not bring alcoholic drinks on board. They stated in the documents they will check water bottles, mouthwashes, etc and they will confiscate them if there is booze in them. You are also warned that you could be denied passage with no refund.

Now, if you are paying several hundred dollars for the cruise, why not just budget an extra $25-35 per day for drinks instead of taking a chance at being told you cannot cruise?

First of all drinks on cruise ships are not $100 but more in the range of $5 to $8. And you can save on drink costs by telling the bartender or server to bring the drink in a plain glass rather than the fancy "take it home with you" glasses that they serve drinks in (especially when you first board the ship). Then its been my experience that you can get a better and stronger drink if you get to know a bartender and buy your drinks there and with a few dollars extra tip.

As far as taking booze on ship I use a flask and pack it in my checked luggage. I fill the flask, put it in a zip lock bag and then pack it in a place where it will not get broken, like inside my shoes. Pack 2 or 3 of them that way and you will be OK. The other option is buy some miniatures and pack them in your luggage with your toiletries. Never try to carry booze on in your carry-on bag.

Like people have said, you could try sneaking it aboard, but there are risks. Aside from getting caught, also consider that the bottle could break or leak and soak your clothes with peach schnapps. (yuck)

So if you decide to try it (which I don't recommend), be sure to use a sturdy bottle, put it in a sealed plastic bag, and well-padded in a hard-sided suitcase.

FYI, it's not necessarily $10 a drink. Beer is usually $3 or $4, and there are always drinks specials each day. You can check out different drink prices here (photos of bar menus from cruise ships): http://www.cruisesavvy.com/cruise_pictures/drink_prices

When you go to a hotel or restaurant, would you even consider taking your own alcohol with you then?

I admit I am rather biased as I do occasional work for cruise lines, but I do consider it rude - especially as many of the staff on board rely on people purchasing drinks for their entire salary

It will likely be found but you can try if you want. Cruise ships have bottled liquor at reasonable prices. Why sneak it aboard when you can buy it by the bottle aboard reasonably priced??
