What is the difference in price between first and second class for an eight day cruise?

As others have mentioned, there is no such thing as 1st class, 2nd class etc. For the most part, there are 4 types of cabins. Inside, Outside, balcony and suite. For the most part the cabin sizes are all the same (except suite) everyone eats in the same dining rooms, service is the same and cabin sizes are the same and amenities are the same. unless you tell someone, no one knows who is in what type of cabin. The suites are a bit different, they are larger, have butler service, priority boarding and disembarkment, and a few other perks. go to cruisecritic.com for info about cruising.

Maui Boy
Very few cruise lines go by class any longer.
Price on a ship is base on deck, location, inside / outside cabin.
where ship goes and what company you sail with.
Shop an compare.

Almost no major lines have "classes" any more. The only difference between passengers are their cabins. The bigger and better the cabin, the higher the cost. All the activities and food are open to all passengers. The different cabins may have different features and / or service, but once outside your cabin - everyone is equal.

Book your cruise by your choice in cabin and destination and enjoy your vacation.

Cunard is the only line with classes. The differenceis where you dine and class of service and cabin .

The above listings are right that not many people deal with "classes" anymore, but one ship that does is the Queen Mary 2. It is just like the Titanic in that depending on your class you are only able to do certain things onboard and you are sectioned off from the higher paying customers.
