Best thing to do is check with your particular cruise line. Each offers a little bit different policy, but in general the drinking age on a cruise line is the same as in the U.S. 21.
Must be 21 to drink:
Carnival
Celebrity and Royal Caribbean (except cruises sailing from European and South American countries with lower drinking ages, and with the concent of a parent)
Disney
Costa (except cruises leaving from non-U.S. ports)
Princess (except for the Sea Princess)
Different drinking policies:
Cunard is 18, I believe
Crystal is 21 if you are within 3 miles of a U.S. port and while in port and also for any hard liquors, but beer and wine is 18 for the rest of the time.
NCL will serve alcohol to guests 18 and older if the parent signs a concent form, except for hard liquor, cruises to Alaska and Hawaii you have to be 21.
Just remember that cruises and drinking don't mix real well, as you may know from the many stories in the news recently. If you do plan to drink onboard, be sure to be safe and responsible. In my opinion, cruise ships are just not the place to drink, so make sure you talk with your parents first and don't do anything that you may regret later. |

Most cruise ships are 21 and up for drinking. Once the ship docks in Cancun, you can drink off the boat. |

The legal drinking age on all cruise ships is always age 21. On cruises that originate in Europe or other South American countries, the cruise lines will allow parents to sign for their kids who are over age 18 to have wine and beer. |

Most cruise lines the drinking age is 21. Although Royal Caribbean allows passengers 18 and above to drink Wine and Beer, NOT LIQUOR, with a signed consent form of the parents. Hope this helps you. You also can find more detailed information at http://readyforvacation.com |

It all depends on where the Ship is registered. Usually, cruise lines are registered under American companies and thus, the legal drinking age is 21. However, I do believe, the last Royal Caribbean cruise I went on out of Galveston, TX, once the ship reached International Waters, the legal drinking age was 18.
You might want to check with the ship. I'm sure there are variations. |
