I went on that exact cruise a few years ago on Carnival. I had a good time. The ship was ok, but the islands were great ! In Belize we went on the city tour/shopping excursion. We got to see some ancient Mayan ruins as well. In Isla Roatan, we went to the botanical gardens, saw exotic fruit (they let you taste it too !), went to the beach there as well (beautifullllll), they take you onto a "floating restaurant" where you can get a fruit drink and relax, and there is shopping right there too. In cozumel, we took the city tour excursion, we saw the whole island ! Our tour guide even took us to this little mexican village where they had a "fertility statue", it was amazing. We had plenty of time to shop in mexico and eat at a mexican restaurant (authentic mexican food is the best !). In Cayman islands, we did the city tour, shopping, and we went to the turtle farm (a must see !). The city tours are the best (and cheapest) way to learn about the culture and see all of the islands, they do a full tour of each island and make many stops at historical/interesting places ! You also get plenty of time to shop and eat. It's way better than spending the whole time just sitting on the beach. |

I did that cruise last year with R.C. and it was just awesome!
In Roatan we did a beach break, and they had free rum (my fav!). The beach was just OK, but the rum was good! It is a very poor country so I wouldnt go wandering off too far from the ship on your own. Stay with the excursions offered on the ship! There were quite a few that sounded like fun.
In Belieze we did a reef snorkel and beach break. The second largest reef is off the coast of Belieze (and surrounding countries), and it was worth it. Its a lot of boat riding to get there though. The ship tenders out and you take a boat to an island, then another to the reef. The beach was very nice, with hammocks, lots of palm (?) trees, a bar, and some water sports. Another time we were there, we went to the Mayan ruins which was nice, except it was a LONG ride there. Not much to do in town, and its poor and not real safe to wander away from the main area.
Cozumel is the place to shop if thats what you like. More darn stores than you can shake a stick at. I dont think you will find great deals though, but Im not a shopper. If you are at the south pier, away from the shopping area, stop at Ernesto's and have a fajita, they are great!! Its right on the water, just a little hole in the wall, but you cant beat the prices.
Caymans is a great place to swim with the stingrays, just go to stingray city! There is also a reef there that you can snorkel around. We did both. If you like, you can just wander around town, as it is pretty safe. Its probably one of the more modern islands in the caribbean. |

Went to Cozumel on one of our cruises. We loved the Myan ruins. Was cool to learn about their culture. The only draw back is that you are in a jungle and there are tons of mosquitoes. They do have repellent there but it is very expensive. Buy it before you go. |
