dont go to sites that charge you, the so called agencies.
Go directly to the cruise lines and search for staff positions
or
check the concessions.
They are easier to get in and run several departments on board like Casino, Gift Shop, Spa, Photo...
for the shops:
www.hardingbros.co.uk
or
www.starboardcruise.com

hardings has some 50 ships, interviews over the phone and is very easy to get in.
Starboard has some 90 ships.

you work around 50 hours a week, depending on how many sea days there are on the cruises, could be more, could be less, but the great thing about the shops is that they usually dont open while the ship is in port, so you get your port days free.
good luck

You really need to check out their websites. They really do a lot of hard work and have very little time off. You must really love the work because you have to be so cordial to the guest and you know you are going to get some really nasty guest. Check into it good before applying. Good luck;;;;;:)

i would check out the websites for the different cruise lines, they should have a career link where you can search all the different jobs :)

on a ship, you can do anything, from cleaning rooms, to laying out towels at the spa, to keeping the buffets full! or you can perform if you have a talent!

There are not many Americans working on cruise ships because it is hard work: 70 hour weeks, six to eight month contracts, etc.
There are Florida schools that offer hospitality programs. Here are the links for UCF and Carnival.
Carnival has corporate jobs as well as the following shipboard positions:
Destination Shopping Specialist;
Shipboard A/V Media
Shipboard Casino
Shipboard Entertainment
Shipboard Gift Shop
Shipboard Golf
Shipboard Information Systems
Shipboard Medical
Shipboard Spa/Beauty/Fitness.
Most cruise ships also need security, youth workers, etc.

I suggest going to some of the cruiseline's websites and take a look.. I wanted to go and work on a ship for awhile myself and as young as you are, that is a great option to be able to see and experience alot.. There is everything from Waiters to Housekeeping to shore excersions.. And with many cruiselines building new ships over the next couple of years, there are going to be plenty of positions open..
