As soon as the ship is cleared by customs, they start disembarkation.
Your get coloured luggage tags and a list of the disembarkation times the day before. It is usually arranged by onward flight times and the ship is probably clear of onward travellers by 9.30. Even if you have a late flight, you usually get taken to a hotel, until it is time to go to the airport.

They want you off quick. The party is over. I've had the cabin steward knock as early as 7 am. Breakfast is very fast and frenzied at the buffet.Have everything packed the night before. If you drove to the port, keep all of your luggage and disembark with it. It will be much quicker. The luggage area getting of the ship is a HUGE commotion. |

It depends where the turnaround port is.
I used to work on a cruise ship and we'd usually begin disembarking guests just before 8:00 a.m., and last call for guests not staying on the ship for the next cruise was usually between 10:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. This was for our Fort Lauderdale turnaround.
When we were in Europe, we'd usually begin disembarking guests around 7:00 a.m. and last call was usually between 9:00 a.m. and 9:15 a.m.

RCCL is now operating a new and wonderful easy system and most passengers are off the ship at 0930.No fuss no problems and a breeze through Customs and Immigration. |

Glad I never cruised on some of the lines of those who answered. I have been on over 20 cruises and always the same.
The ship docks and the gangways are set up.
Within 45 minutes - ship docks at 6:30 am crew departs ship and goes threw customs.
Then depending on your flight home you depart.
If you choose to find your own way to the airport(taxi) you are one of the first to depart. You carry your luggage and are on your way by 7:30 am to airport. Same every cruise at airport by 8:am
Most cruise lines if you read the brochure need you off the ship no later than noon so they can prepare for their next travelers. Every cruise I have been on starts boarding by 1pm. |

They want you off ASAP so they can clean/prepare the ship ready for the next lot of guests to start loading from about 4:00.
You will probably we given colour codes bag tags and a list of what time each colour disembarks. Generally everyone will be gone before 10am. |

It depends, but generally will be mid to late morning. The ship has to be cleared by the US, which means that every person on board -- crew and passengers -- must personally take his or her passport for review by officials who board the ship after it docks. Until the ship is "cleared" nobody can leave the ship. Once the ship is cleared, people can begin to leave, and they do that by calling groups over the PA system, usually by color of baggage tags they have given you. What color your tags are and what order the colors groups are called will relate to when flights leave. They do ask people to clear out of their cabins as soon as possible so they can clean them and get ready for the next group of passengers boarding the ship in the afternoon, and that is simply a time to find a comfy spot in one of the lounges or other public rooms with your overnight bag, ready to leave. Disembarking is, unfortunatly, delayed when passengers don't think they'll bother with going through the line with their passports, and those names are broadcast on the PA system while crew members actually go look for them. Those delays can make people miss their flights, and I have always thought those people who cause the delays should be thrown overboard. Anyhow, the bottom line is that just because the ship pulls into port around sunrise doesn't mean you must or can leave the ship then. |

Just been on a cruise with Carnival last month and they got us off the ship by 930am. They did it by decks. We still had the chance to take breakfast before disembarking. And, no, we didn't get checked on board by Customs like what others experienced. All in all it took us about half an hour to get off the ship-from the time of lining up and going thru Immigrations again. |

If the ship docks at 06:30 you should be off the ship and heading to the bus or taxi or plane by 10:00 at the earliest, but by noon at the latest. You have to stand in line while the Coast Guard checks your passport and other documents and you may have your luggage gone through looking for contraband.. and if they FIND any... you can forget that 10:00 figure. |

You will get a from in the middle of the cruise and you will give some info including your departure flight time (if you take a flight home) and that the time you get off will be based upon that. . .Say your departure flight is between 10 and 11am then you will probably leave the boat at 7am but if you have a late flight then you might not leave the boat until 2pm at the latest. |

getting off the ship varies. They usually get into port early in the morning. But the customs agents come on board to check things out. All of the passengers have to go through customs, this is done on the ship and is handled quite nicely. If you came into port at 6:30 am. I would guess you would be done with everything and on your way at about 9:30 a.m. But you never know. They always encourage travelers not to schedule a flight before 11:00 am. The last time I cruised, I would have been able to make a 10:30 am flight if I was determined and thought about it ahead of time. |

It all depends on the ship and the port and if you were home porting or catching a plane later. We had to check out of our room by 10:30 and be off the ship by 12:00 pm. This is what we were told. The ship was the Sea Princess since they have to get the rooms ready for other passengers boarding. Another ship might be different. I realized that they had other passengers still on that were leaving later because some of them took a tour and said they had to be back by 2:00pm. |
